Got a hands-on experience with this on xbox and here's some small thoughts: Audio/sounds are very good and when you race with a racing car it definitely sounds like it too and no crappy skidding sounds like in gran turismo. Graphics are what you expect from xbox, blurry like hell and needs AA desperately but it runs smooth when racing, menus though are different story and transitions from page to another lags quite a bit. I used controller to drive so didn't really get a good feeling and the default settings for steering especially are very weird with tons of deadzone and all but luckily you can adjust: Vibration strength Steering, Throttle, Brake, Clutch deadzone and sensitivity Speed sensitivity for racing and also for drifting. Handling setting is selectable between Novice, Normal, Experienced, Pro and Elite I drove some laps(pro handling) around suzuka with nissan gt-r and on zolder with renault megane and it was good and i'm sure that with wheel it gets much better. One small bad thing i noticed that you can only do quick race/time trial/drifting with cars you actually own so getting to drive those super cars can take some time. But all and all i really look foward to get this on pc and test it with my g25.
Thanks for the quick preview of it, I am really excited for Tuesday to get here so I can dive into this. Is the jerkness of the in game wheel de to the dead zone issues from the controller? I have heard good things from people who have actually played the game as opposed to the insesent crying from others on various boards.
Yeah i think if you really wanna enjoy this NFS you must have a proper racing wheel(with gear shift and everything)
I'm not sure what you are asking but because at default steering deadzone was 30% it was impossible to drive, i dropped it down to 5% and it was much better but still with a controller i can't get any "feeling" of the car.
Yea this game is definitely going to be fun to play but it's still console game so simulation level is always low.
well.. i could do with just fun and just be silly driving around. i just hope the sliding physics won't be as annoying as that in shift 1. i've stopped playing shift1 because it's near undriveable to play the top tier cars with shift 1's physics.
So this is not "Real Racing" how they kept on saying..i'm guessing it's just fun racing and that's all..
that looks pretty terrible, the scale of the Suzuka circuit is completely off. turn 1/2 are never that long in real life. it all looks far too stretched out. The guy driving is really bad as well. Cheers for the video mate, you saved me from spending money on this.
