I have to admit like most, I thought AMD was going to be crashed by the GTX590. I can't afford these cards anyways so I don't care about who's winning! @TheHunter Get a GTX560 they're SICK!
As the news post showed this kind of piece only really brings the trolls and fanboys out of the woodwork. That said AMD really has to call out Nvidia on this when they, rather unexpectedly at that, have the faster card. If they didn't they'd pretty much resign themselves to being the second-choice, in a market of two, and that'd be marketing suicide. I wouldn't pay much attention to it however.
Don't think we should pay this much attention. News like this only fuel fanboys,when it's all said and done AMD and NVIDIA are FRIENDS.
Sorry all, asked for closure, forgot the no slating Nvidia rule, ill try and remember its only AMD who can be slagged in future.
Consider it evidence that the AMD boards are filled with more temperate people and it might cheer your mood a bit.
The thing is that AMD isnt actually doing anything wrong from what I see. Like anyone on here, they see a claim and they are calling out Nvidia with proof that they are the kings of the high end as they have been for quite a while. Tbh I hope AMD can bring out some amazing gear so that they can be more competitive in the high end market. All hail the days of the ATI Radeon 9800, thats card was a beast back in the day lol

It's great to see AMD is doing well. Hopefully it will help bring Intel and Nvidia prices down before I'm going to buy from them again.
At the end of the day Nvidia ****ed up BIG TIME! They deserve to have the piss ripped out of them,i for one like nvidia gpu's as some of you may be aware,but the 590 sucks and i agree the 6990 owns it,right now in time its ATI ahead and Nvidia trailing,its that simple.
none that's the thing, they can't compete with stock clocks and as you know it can't Oc much either or kaboom!
I dont blame ati for calling them out on this tbh guys want the fastest card and when they see worlds fastest card claim they buy that card so nvidia put up or retract the claim.
the R 6990 is a great card and i love my 4 R 6970's but i just think it's stupid that people are a fan of a brand of video cards i can care less what color the label is its what does the best for what i plan to do but yes if i were to chose a R 6990 or a GTX 590 i would buy a R 6990.the reason being is because it's faster and i water cool.
It's no different than the 1000+ "nV owns ATI" threads... If you're an nV fanboy, stay in the nVidia section....then you won't see these threads.
Nvidia is turning there attention away from graphics and headed toward cell phones, they like most believe thats the long term future. However they make their money from GPUs and they will be around for the forseeable future so they better quite thinking there still ahead cause they are not
