Samurai II: Vengeance isn't a very good example, imo, as it looks just as good on the iPad/iPad 2.

So far no games have been released to take advantage of the PowerVR SGX 543MP2 in the iPad 2. However, optimized versions of Dead Space 2, Infinity Blade and Real Racing 2 HD are looking pretty good - even on a 50" TV via the HDMI out:

    http://dailyiphoneblog.com/2011/03/15/infinity-blade-and-real-racing-2-on-an-hdtv-via-an-ipad-2/

Regarding no Flash on the iPad/iPad 2: you can use iSWiFTER which is a browser available in the iTunes AppStore that does support Flash video and even Flash Games: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/iswifter/id388857173?mt=8

Skyfire is an option, too: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/skyfire-web-browser-for-ipad/id409153623?mt=8

Besides that you can also use iOSFlashVideo: http://iosflashvideo.fw.hu/

All of that without having to jailbreak your iPhone/iPad. Besides that the latest numbers on how many web sites are still using Flash vs. HTML5 for web videos are indicating a pretty obvious trend:

In January 2010 Adobe said Flash supported almost 75% of Web videos. Only one year later - in Febraury 2011 - about 63% of Web videos could be played using HTML5. (source: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42059189/ns/business-motley_fool/)

Supposedly the tegra2 version of samuria ii runs a constant 60fps and has more things going on in the background with detail and is natively a higher res...but with the ipad2 who knows im sure they will update it for that as well. Dont have a tegra2 so cant confirm.

I had a nook color rooted and running android and it was quite fast but after about 5 days I realized it was useless for me since I already had an android and a laptop so I took it back (after putting it back to stock). I see so many dedicated gaming card laptops for the 500 dollar price range its hard for me to justify it besides awesome battery life...must...ignore...initial hype....must...be level...headed!!!

The only reasons i would go for an iPad2 (dont have the original) is for to showcase my photos and for watching movies when i go on holidays.
Still undecided on whether to get one or not, or just buy a used original iPad for a LOT less.

Well, i gave in to temptation and bought a used iPad1 64gb WiFi last night for £300.
Its immaculate and came with official case.

Had a quick mess around with it during my nightshift and really like it so far.
I know of a few places i can park up when at work that have unprotected (and public) WiFi, so give it a good go, downloading a few apps (angry birds etc).
Was on it for hours and the battery went from 61% (thats what it was on when i goit it) to 55%, so really impressed with that.

If i wanted i could probably sell it for more and then buy the iPad2, but may keep hold until the iPad3 is released.

It got a rating of 4/10 in gsm arena, here is why:

    Main disadvantages

    * iTunes required for uploading content
    * No Flash support in the web browser
    * Poor still cameras – though, really, this thing isn’t meant for taking candids
    * No standard USB port
    * No kickstand – it cannot stand on a table without the help of a dock stand or a Smart cover
    * Non replaceable battery
    * No stereo loudspeakers
    * No GPS receiver for the Wi-Fi only version
    * No memory card slot
    * 3G model uses micro-SIM, instead of a regular size SIM
    * iPhone apps designed for HVGA resolution squander screen real estate or look pretty bad uspcaled

I try not to take much notice of ratings as they either focus on the good or bad things and can depend if the author of the review likes or dislikes a product.
You will either get a fanboy review or a hater review.
Your much better trying one for yourself and making your own mind up.

I tried the original ipad that came out & liked it. The ONLY change I wish they could make is to be able to connect it to a pc via usb cable ( usb mass storage)

Beside the fact GSM arena <3's Android and Symbian, that's a very biased review.
Itunes also converts, and compresses your media files so you use less space, but lose almost no quality. And as much as I don't like Itunes, Itunes isn't terrible to use now either. It's not really a big inconvenience to add a few extra clicks.
When Froyo was announced and when Adobe announced that flash 10 was making it's way to Froyo, people were very happy and excited about it. I was too, but now where a lot of websites are blocking Android from viewing media on their device, or the video or games aren't optimized for touch and the system, flash doesn't do too much good except shows you ads. Plus there are easy alternatives to having flash installed on your ipad.
The hell would you need one for? The Xoom only has support through third party coding, and even then it doesn't do much.
The kickstand is really more of a gimmick then anything. It's useful, and people buy a product for this but in the end of the day are you actually gonna use it? I use mine on my Evo, but I know a ton of people who have the Evo and the HD7, but don't really use the kickstand on the back. Besides, Apple at least offers some type of support with the smart cover, and it's very flexible. You can use it with your ipad in portrait and landscape mode, something you can't do with the Evo and HD7. Xoom doesn't have one either, but that wasn't a negative for it.
Nor does the Xoom or Galaxy Tab. Plus if there's nothing wrong with the battery, then why change it?
What ARM Tablet or phone does? None of them do right now!
That's because it's Wi-Fi only, it does tell you that. The only reason GPS receivers are in phones is because of the cellular modem inside. Like anything else that uses the data network of the carrier, if it can use Wi-fi it will.
Xoom doesn't either, but again that wasn't a negative. Besides, the Ipad starts off at 16gb. If you're gonna use 16gb worth of space on a tablet like this, then you have too much porn.
Micro-SIM is nothing more than a sim card just cut down. Hell, you can make your own SIM into a Micro-SIM with a knife or scissors. Plus, the Micro-SIM is newer but it's nothing new that you should be surprized about. I mean come on, the Ipad and the Iphone 4 used it. Next they're gonna complain the CDMA version doesn't have a SIM at all!(Just to let you know, that last comment was sarcasm)
They don't look too good on the Xooms high resolution either. It's the same case with Honeycomb, the developer chooses weather or not to include a resolution for devices. They don't have to, and people and developers alike are damn lucky that the Ipad and Iphone/Ipod touch App stores are the same.

What it really seems like is GSM arena is making up excuses and reasons for the Ipad to get a lower review score. I mean come on, no stereo? No Kickstand? Are those really reasons to not buy a product when no other product has it, or it's just a gimmick?! This is ridiculous now. I love Android, I really do. But this review is far from fair, and a lot of problems the Ipad has Android shares the same. In fact, Android has it's own problems. Multiple versions, but still no Hardware acceleration?!

A lot of Nokia phones have super loud stereo speakers! It would be nice to have on a tablet :)

Oh and the Xoom does have a MicroSD card slot.

My old Nokia N95 had stereo speakers, but the problem with stereo on a small device like a phone (or pad/radio/ghetto etc) is that they are too close together so you dont get the true effect of stereo, so its pointless.

Speakers need to be around 6' apart to get decent stereo effects.

When they first came out i laughed and thought 'who would want one'.
I too didnt think there was a place for one in my life.
Whilst i agree a new one is exensive, i still think they have their place now.

As i said, i have just got one (used, so cheaper than new), and have put several movies on it (still putting more on) to use on holiday. I have loads of apps and games, and use it to showcase my photos (for which it is excellent) and surf the net.
All this in a device smaller than an A4 piece of paper, thinner than a DVD case, yet with a large enough screen to be of use.
Try doing that on a laptop (that i also have BTW).

Its a thing of convenience and is actually VERY good at what it does.
Ok, i cant run Photoshop on it, but its not what i want it for. I have a laptop or desktop for that.

Yeah, I agree. It's not a machine designed for work as such but more really for entertainment/media.

It's great for watching movies, playing games or going through photos. Battery life is great.

It is overpriced for what it is though. I'd pay no more than £300-£400 for one.

And i think that is a fair price for what it is, but whilst people are willing to spend more than that, Apple will be willing to charge it.

Its like all the variations. The price to Apple for the extra memory or 3G chip etc will be next to nothing. So why dont they make them all 64gb WiFi 3g? They wont, so they can charge different prices and tempt people to upgrade and spend even more.
Great business sense, but a little unfair for the consumer.

I paid £300 for mine, and think its a great bit of kit at that price, but wont be rushing out to buy the newest one. I may get it eventually (or the 3rd gen), but not at the prices they are asking.

Another thing about the iPad (and other tablets for that matter), every piece of software just works as it should. Its not like a laptop where you need new drivers, for a cocktail of hardware, and can be a little hit or miss if you are going to have trouble running something or not.
Almost everything on a tablet works out of the box (like consoles i guess).

You got it for a VERY good price, far cheaper than what it was when it was released.

    Love APPLE, Hate APPLE.

Just been reading another thread about the iPad 2 launch, and read things like...

People joining the queue HOURS prior to release.
Queues in the 100's awaiting their new toy.
Apple employees running along the queue high 5'ing people (WTF?).
A big TV with a count down on it 'til time of release.
    Fights in the queue.
People missing out on the one they want.
Queuing at the Apple store, yet just walking in to Argos, Comet, PCWorld and not having to wait at all, lol.

I mean, what is the world coming to? I really like my iPhone 4 and new (to me) iPad1, but this is just stupid.
I can see why some people hate Apple now, lol.

Some may have called me a fanboy in the past because i 'like' the product, but these take it to the extreme.

When the iPhone 3g came out i went on the forums and complained about the lack of not being able to forward messages or MMS, and dared to speak about the failings of the iPhone at the time.
I was banned from the forums, lol.
