    Yay!

The review is out for Nvidia's 590! I jumped at that 6990 on opening and then thought about the how near the 590's release was.

Buy first, think later.... a personality flaw.

For once, I 'm not disappointed though!

The review for the 590 is out and it looks like the 6990 was a good choice both for price and performance... whew.

    No regrets at last!

    vs.

AMD even managed to scale better in Crossfire vs. SLI. SUPER!

Okay, back to work. No more flag waving for today. :nerd: (God, I've finally achieved nerd status.... I figured it was inevitable anyhow. Sigh....)

Now if only I could get After Effects CS4 to recognize the 6990's OpenGL capabilities.... I'm accepting advice and trying everything on this problem.:stewpid:

EDIT: i see only the GURU3D review ._. sorry if im wrong, but anyway the 6990 is much better performance/price.

6990 is louder, but that's it. Go AMD this time around!

I think it's hard to say 'cause it's a matter of taste... both solutions are very competitive and priced at same level, so there's no winner IMO.

Edit: it would be a different story if GTX 590 were launched at rumored prices (US$ 799).

AMD clearly wins in high resolution, especially triple monitor setup due to the extra VRAM. If you are buying such high end car and playing on low res then it is just a waste. I'm sure gtx 580 or 570 (6970 or 6950) will be able to max everything out at resolution below 1080p.

As expected 6990 ends up being faster, yes its louder, but hey this is enthusiast hardware we are talking about. Neither of the cards attract me, the crossfire setup is still the best option in my opinion.

Definitely made the right choice, the 6990 is the faster card, and it can be overclocked, where as the 590 will blow up :D

    Its another Nvidia FAIL :p

I'm sure people could adjust fan profile and clock/voltage to make the card quieter for a little decrease in performance. My 6950's default is only 1.065V for 800Mhz.

If you have no money its a waste however wish I had a 6990 and a 6970 instead of the 3 580's I have!

hey with my surround sound I cant hear anything but the game anyway.
