**GTX 560 Ti Owners Thread**

Based on a stopwatch and a thermometer.

 

I opted for the KFA2 OC (only a marginal overclock, but reasonable price)

I'm not expecting it to be that much faster than the existing 4870x2, but I'm looking forward to going back to a single GPU system for a while, reducing my power, noise and heat overheads.

Speaking of heat - my 4870x2 VRM is hitting 120C under load.. GPUs up to 90. No artifacts and no stuttering as far as I can tell, but is this a 4870x2 about to die?

 

That could mean GTX 560 simply has a more effective cooler ...

Atel, yeah VRMs at 120 degrees means definitely that your card is gonna die.

 

I don't know. Its almost like somethings broke...it squeals whcih I find annoying. The heat outputs just so intense and its running completely stock. I might send it in.

Atel, it happens with 4870x2 around once per year, the 2 copper radiator inside get clogged up with dust. You have to disassemble it totally, clean it and its gone be grand. I did my one yesterday (last time a year and 2 days ago and from 75 in idle and 110 load with fan on 100% I went to 42 in idle and 90 in load with the fan set to 36% when you cant hear it at all if I crank up the fan to 45% it doesn't hit 85 in full load

 

@ cowie how much better do you think the HAWK(TFIII) model is over the TFII copper? I returned my Palit 2gig cards they where just bad, so looking to pick up some thing thats run cooler on my mobo.

That's reassuring.. the old X2 is now in an anti-static bag, cleaned and ready to go again. Know anyone who wants one?

Meanwhile, 3 hours ownership of a 560 - I'm quite pleased.. does what the old card does, with half the noise and less power.

 

My 4870X2 crapped itself and died too, and I too replaced it with a lovely Gigabyte 560 OC. I sincerely wish I had paid the extra £25 now and gone for the SOC because I can't seem to overclock it at all. Maybe I just don't know what I'm doing but I've tried every voltage increment and nothing will stabilise 950mhz core.

 

I've decided to just undervolt. I'm @ .975 now and still stable @ 900.

 

I'm not sure Mad,it may be awhile till we see a hawk 560 anyway.
From what i'v seen its been a mixed bag on the msi cards,but most brands results are.

It sucks you had to send them back,you think maybe higher single card would be better in your case?(no pun intended)
remember they have a duel cored card 560 being released soon too.(?)

 

my palit 2 gig is doing fine at 1000mhz sorry to hear you got a bad one but all games are running great.

 

I sold mine on ebay.co.uk, got over £90 for it. Couldn't be happier, consider I bought it used on ebay a year ago myself.

i'm waiting for gtx 590 but i don't think i will buy it ( i'm just being cautions until they release the reviews).
but if its not that good or outside of my budget limit i'm going to buy 2x560

i'm considering buying the palit 2gb edition (1080p plus 3d gaming, so i will use the extra ram).
my question is, is it easy to overclock ?
can someone share with me their palit gtx 560 2gb benchmarks ?

i'm thinking of buying asus (not top) gtx560... does anyone know it's oc'ing capability without voltage tweaks?

 

on my main computer, im able to get 925 core/1850 shader/4400 memory with my asus card. any higher needs a v-tweak. as for my other computer, i have the same card and im able to get higher to 940 core/1880 shader/4432 memory max before any v-tweak is needed. so really it depends on the card. you make get one that will oc really good or you may end up with a crap card. its just the juck of the draw

 

Hi everyone I didn't want to start a new thread, so here goes.

I want to buy an asus 560 ti, and I don't have money to change anything else (i.e. PSU). So can this card run on a sonata III 500W PSU?

 

I currently own a SLI GTX560 Twin Frozr's on my set up. Running stable happy at 980hz core clock with 1960 shader clock and 2300hz on the memory, voltage at 1.087 for guaranteed stable. Can get by with 1.075v for a slightly slower temp. Under heavy gaming and benchmarking I can get 64c highest under fans auto. Safe set up 24/7 is 950hz/2300 memory @ 1.037v with 57c peak.

Edit: Benchmark on 3dMark11 with 980/2300 memory setup and 2600k processor oc'd to 4.7ghz is 9064p score.
