Windows 7 SP1 released Today

anyone else having issues with sp1 breaking steam and not being able to play a single game?! :bang:

its all games, i think ill give it a few days and see if steam releases a patch if not then format c.

I did a complete format and install of Windows 7 Ult 64 with the Technet release of Win 7 SP1. Which is the full OS with SP1. Steam works fine for me. So either it's an issue with installing the SP1 over an existing installation or Steam gets borked with SP1. You might just try reinstalling Steam.

 

i see it on WU. but from what i read about it, i just can't find any reason to bother installing it to make risking a bork worth it. No one can do borks like MS.

 

I have a pirated Windows 7 Enterprise version , the SP1 appeared normally via Windows Update , I installed it , and its all fine.

Looks like my version is this:

Windows 7 Enterprise 7601.17514.amd64fre.win7sp1_rtm.101119-1850

It is the retail SP1 isnt?

 

ok so i started messing around with my games and found a solution....upon closing msi afterburner 2.1.0 beta 6 everything works fine. can anyone else confirm any issues of afterburner killing games with service pack 1 installed? c:

 

Works ok for me, even the beta for the game SS works fine

Soooo many ppl will not pay for windows,,,I cant blame them either..aint like MS is gonna go broke

 

Even though I got my copy of Windows free*, I still wouldn't mind going legit and paying $99 for it. Hell, most people here have expensive rigs, why not go the extra length to go get a legal copy of Windows, it doesn't really make sense to me.

If you don't want to pay for Windows, go Linux.

not a happy chappy here , usb host controller problems , ideazon merc broke and they have known for months still no fix , razer habu playing up , its bloody microsoft as well the habu with razer and still probs ffs

ended up doin a fresh install and had exactly the same problems , a waste of hours of my life :bang:

 

Installed here, working just fine from Windows Update.

 

Only windows I ever bought was XP...right after that my father in law gave me a burnt copy of XP but a diif edition..then he gave me burnt Vista...then I found my own Vista 64 and so on and so on..

I should buy a legit version cause then I will never have to worry bout the activation

 

people need to stop talking about ilegal copys of win 7 here like they where told.

Tho I see the usb problem is still there for some, That is not a good thing in the least

 

What USB problem? I haven't found any....

can you guys teach me how to uninstall the beta? I cant find it in the updates but I do have a watermark on desktop that says evaluation copy blah blah :O:O:O

Installed ok here. Legit copy. Steam working fine etc.
