OMG a P4 Northy user!!! Dude... i'm surprised you're running that thing at 3.2 with the stock cooler. I almost miss my northwood. Contrary to the possible belief, they were fantastic overclockers.

Yes they are. The best P4 overclocking cores if you ask me. Even though they werent near as "good" as the Prescotts in terms of performance, the fact that they could run a much higher voltage, and take it, and even at 1.7v they can still run alot cooler than an equal Prescott.

I just ran Orthos too, 5 hours stable with HT enabled:

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Its stable at 3.2ghz with the HT disabled, but I saw that in most apps and games it didnt perform near as well. So HT does have somewhat of a use afterall.

PS: Just ordered a P4 Prescott 3.2ghz/1MB L2 for my board, $16 couldnt pass it up. Ill see how that overclocks.

And yup, this was done on stock cooling room temp at 70F. :) Im proud of my Northwood.

And youll also notice thats on stock voltage. .

Although I believe most Northwoods had a wall of just under 4Ghz. I believe it was the prescott that was one of the first cpus to pass 4Ghz. And well pass it. I believe there was even a prescott that they had up to 7Ghz using liquid nitrogen cooling or something.

Well I spent the better part of 6 hours last night cleaning and re-wiring the Xaser.

Yes I took my time, oh and cleaning fans takes forever :bang:

Anyway, before I get to the pics of the recent cleaning and wiring, here's some older pics of how it's come along over the past 3 years.

Great place to hide the cables when you don't have a modular PSU

Ok... these may be two dumb questions but A) what's with the two 4-pin molex connectors by the expansion slots, and B) Why did they seem to replace an expansion slot with a molex connector? Lol.

I might be wrong but it might be to supply more power to the expansion slots. Kinda like that evga thing they came out with not too long ago...

Yep, that exactly what it's for. Lots of high end boards have used it for along time. I remember my DFI NF4 board had one. Didn't notice the moles at the bottom until the board arrived. I'm assuming there are two as one feeds the NF200 slots, and the other one the native slots.

fulmtl: if i had to guess, i'd say possibly an air conditioning unit? Don't see a fan there, and even if there was, couldn't imagine a duct like that being of much use in that way.
