MSI afterburner bug report & suggestion

Don't know if this is a real issue, or has been reported (as I did a search and nothing came up), but when I set a profile for 2D/3D clocks my driver crashes when ever it switches between the two modes/profiles (tested nvidia 263.09, 265.90, 266.35, 266.58, etc).

 

Is there any chance of PowerPlay being enabled after changing UnofficialOverclocking to 1? Or either Voltage Control in Trixx...

 

Slim to none Dracozirion. It has been requested before and denied. As to Trixx, you would need to talk to that developer or Sapphire, as it is not the same one as MSI Afterburner.

 

Will be supported on new HD 6000 series in the next beta. But still, MSI/Unwinder wont provide any support if any problems.

 

Hi, your problem is strange to me. As we already fixed the typo of N470GTX-M2D12 in 2.1.0 beta 6, which means there should be no such problem here.

Can you take a picture of the back PCB ? also I would like to see the GUID of your graphics card (by clicking the i bottom on Afterburner Interface)

 

I have a problem with the fan on my main card spinning up to 100% randomly with the auto fan enabled. Also the temp graph drops to zero once in a while.

Edit: With version 2.0 of afterburner i have never had this problem.

 

From the screenshot you provided, the fan settings are not controlled by BIOS (auto), and it's controlled by "user settings"... so you can check it. Also because you are using GTX 470 + GTX 285, I also think the driver may have compatbilitiy issue with such combination....you can try to test one card first.

I use Afterburner Beta 7 - Thank you for the PowerPlay support. Works!

If I do a restart the power slider in CCC is still on the previous set +20%.
But the frames in benching (eg. Furmark) are as low as when the slider to 0%... (but it still shows +20%)

If I move the slider again and save this the preformace is back untill the next reboot....

Is Afterburner limiting the powerslider to 0% after a reboot?

Any comments?

Reset breaks power saving mode with multiple displays on GTX570.

Monitors: 1280x800 @ 120hz + 1680x1050 @ 120hz

When I bootup using these 2 monitors at different resolutions, the card runs in a special power saving mode. The clocks are at full speed but the power consumption is reasonably low. It happily returns to this state after gaming too. Figures given by gpu-z.

System Power: 138watts at wall
Temp: 38c
Core: 732.1mhz
Memory: 950mhz
VDDC: 0.967v
VDDC Current: 13A

However, hitting reset in MSI Afterburner gives me the following:

System Power: 180watts at wall
Temp: 52c
Core: 732.1mhz
Memory: 950mhz
VDDC: 0.963v
VDDC Current: 17.5A

The slightly lower voltage is obviously a result of vdroop and everything else is unchanged. It's simply not running in the same power mode anymore, as shown by the VDDC current.

 

"Reset" returns the cards to what Afterburner believes is the stock for the card, not what the card's BIOS has. Apparently, your EVGA does not match the programmed MSI GTX 570. The "simple" solution is just not to hit the reset button.

 

I have now got myself a second GTX 470 TF2 and the spikes in temp and fan speed still happen randomly.

I highly suggest supporting the APW7088 voltage controller since more and more brands are now using it.

As of now, there is nothing on the market that can interact with it, and I would really like MSI AB to be able to do so.

The problem with softvoltmodom card XFX HD5770 (hd-577x-ZNFM VE2) 1024mb DDR5: insane:



in MSI afterburner
slider changes the voltage is not active. The driver is installed Catalyst 11.1

How to overcome this problem and raise the voltage program, agonize over this problem.

The program has made MSI afterburner settings:
1) unblock the control voltage
2) to unlock the voltage monitoring
3) Edited cfg file (EnableUnofficialOverclocking = 1)

I have almost exactly the same card.

The voltage regulator/controller is made by APW.

It would be great if MSI Afterburner supports this.

Problem solved (i hope), it seemed to be a compatibility issue with Aida64. I have upgraded to the latest version and enable some compatibility options

 

possibly your profile settings are not correct, overclocking too much...?

 

PCB version is printed on the sticker of the back pcb. something like V220....

 

Unless reference card or MSI own design card starts to use APW7088 solution, otherwise the answer will be no... sorry
