I have two Gigabyte GTX 470 SLI overclocked to 800/1800. I use an Asus 120Hz monitor with native resolution @ 1920X1080. No problems playing Crysis Wars online. My frame rates average in the 60s. Not sure why you're having problems with two 580s unless there's bottleneck with your cpu (which seems very unlikely).

At those resolutions, I guess another 580 is in order.

Ya it does other wise i wouldn't waste money on a 2nd card let alone a 3rd but instead would be buying a new MB

kool dude, I suppose at ur res the i5 wouldn't bottleneck too much either, but IMO I say u should skip it tbh, wait for next gen

lol I was just sayin IMO (In my opinion) u should skip going to tri SLI and just wait to upgrade, even if the i5 won't bottleneck the GPUs at that resoultion

HAHA i did know "IMO" and no my i5 has been fantastic! CPU"s are ssssssooooo overated I"ll spend my money on GPU"s any day.
My goal is to try and stay above 60FPS and my CPU keeps that goal in every game noproblem, only my GPU's have ever failed me.

Everyone always talks of Bottleneck and cpu which IMO is damn right stupid. I mean if your pulling 200fps and a better cpu could give you more fps that would be a bottleneck thats crazy man. Even if your doing 100fps thats not enough?? come on unless benchmarking is your thing then there is no point.

Well some of the weaker AMD cpus (3 cores and less?) will actually struggle to get you above 60fps in certain titles...

Krog... your specs say you have a Gigabyte Extreme P7P55DU7... I'm not sure that board exists.... could it be the GA-P55A-UD7 ?

If so you might want to check the operation of the PCI-E lanes...

That third card would run at 8x as would one of the others depending on which slot you use.

C'mon toms.. thats like linking to wiki..well almost :)

At that resolution however you are gonna need a 3rd card unless you are willing to drop down on the eyecandy.

Wouldn it be better to buy a nice s-ips 30" mon instead of 3 mons?

x8 @ 2.0 is fine won't saturate his bandwithd, a 5970 show a minor minor saturation so a single 580 would be fine.

Some say though mixing x8 and x16 is microstutter prone but then again not everyone notice microsuttering, I'm one of those who never noticed it.

Totally aware of that not only my 3rd but my 2nd would also go 8x it wont much much difference and ya its a ud7. Man i do allot of research before I do stuff and I know what i need. I'll have to change that on my specs just hit the wrong buttons.

It shouldn't be long until NVIDIA release GTX 595 or whatever it is, maybe SLi those instead ... or wait for Kepler.
