do i install this over my 10.12 drivers or what?

i'm super confused. i uninstalled my old driver and install this... and my resolution values are messed up, and i cant even open games.

I can confirm that these drivers work quite well for the 5870. My strange alt tab issue is fixed, gameplay on many games feels smoother.

Maybe it's just the clean install I did, but I notice all kinds of improvements. Even the desktop is snappier.

Clean install with twl, and used von's dummy cap.

It sure is operational here. Unfortunately it's visibly less tessellation as well. Raised my Heaven score from 1550 to 1900, but it's not comparable since it didn't render with the tessellation levels of the benchmarks. I can see how it will be a good thing in the future when games have begun using tessellation more.

this driver is smoking fast! tried all the big hitters briefly, metro, crysis, vantage, 3d mark 11, bc2 and on, ALL show marked improvements, someone needs to compare this to a 570 now to see whats what.

posted some of the below in the other thread
Hawx2 tessellation On is very jerky
Rain in GTA IV/Episodes is still corrupt for 69X0 cards
    Slight improvement in Unigine
Mafia 2 is up a few FPS in eyefinity @ 6040x1050
Metro 2033, min FPS is up, avg is still the same
Dead Space 2 has nuts performance, changing AA settings now also doesnt result in 8FPS maxed @ 5040x1050, still looks crap though as its not proper AA. Havnt tried MPAA yet in it though( all previous drivers ran MPAA like crap in eyefinity )
Applying 3d settings in CCC resets fan control to auto

*EDIT* Finally MPAA in Eyefinity with Dead Space runs excellently( runs like crap after a few ALT + TABs though ). MPAA + Eyefinity in GTA IV + Episodes still runs like junk, actually it runs weird in GTA IV/Episodes. Runs great running in a straight line, i.e. 40FPS, turn around and its at 14FPS until it catches up( as if the streaming is interfering with it or something )

Seem to be fine these, ran 3DMark 11, and Heaven, and got around the same scores with these (mind you, i left the tessellation on default, AMD optimized checked), and ive tried a couple of games, run fine with no issues, so ill be keeping this set until the newer hotfixes are released next week :)

EDIT: Well the tessellation slider works, i slid it all the way to the left (off), and ran Heaven again, got about 69fps, and i could see that the tess. was indeed off, so i can see that being useful for heavy tessellated stuff in the future. :D

Id get prepared for the Nv lot crying now, "i bet its only faster as they turned the tessellation down in the drivers, the cheating *****" blah blah blah. :p

lol but we can say that we dont have to let the drivers do the work, we have a choice :) its a very nice feature to have in reflection of previous comment I made

tbh i think the tessellation control( if/when it works ) is excellent to have, i mean its basically just allowing you to override the application setting, and if youve a game where it destroys performance you can lower it maintaining fps. Its cheating for benchmarks, but its a great feature for gamers, and no different from having AA or AF control

yep your right, I think the only thing the nv lot will be crying about is that they dont have this feature, watch in 6 months when some real torture test for ati (TWIMTBP) games come out and we can play happy :) nice, looking forward to happily playing crysis 2:biggun: :)
