I saw Tool at the Ozzfest in '98; I was really looking forward to seeing them live but Maynard just stood there for the whole set, I was sooo disappointed

James Hetfield is OK, but after watching Some Kind of Monster, it certainly changed my feeling towards him. Unfortunately not for the better. Besides for over the past decade Metallica's albums just haven't been very good. I absolutely love their early stuff, but now they are just meh.

Try yelling/singing for 20+ years. It happens. Though he's starting to get his voice back, I heard a few songs on youtube from their last show on the DM World Tour and he's starting to sound much better now.

James Maynard Keenan is my #1 favorite but Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters puts on one hell of a show.

Infinite respect for you good sir!

You reminded me who my actual unquestionable favourite is... Ian Curtis formerly of Joy Division
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

The guy was incredibly talented but suffered severe epilepsy and in turn depression... He'd have fits on stage that people thought was just his erratic dancing... The depression got too much and he watched a film called Stroszek and listened to an Iggy Pop song then hung himself. :( Better to burn out than fade away Neil Young says..

And for trivia fans the remaining band members went on to form New Order!

I saw "Joy divison" recently in Brisbane (australia). Peter Hook was singing all the songs and playing bass, and his son I think was doing the guitars, dunno who else were onstage, obviously just muso friends.

Was an amazing night. Musically it sounded incredibly polished and well done, I mean, you'd expect nothing less with one of the founding members. Nothing on seeing them in their heyday, though, but hell, It was at least something.

Curtis was a great man, and infact, inspired my great man somewhat, so **** yeah.

Jarno Salomaa and Natalie Koskinen (both front the Shape Of Despair band) a funeral doom band, they alternate during the songs creating an amazing mix, it's one of my favorite bands of all time.
