what i get from him is that NFSHP2010 loves quad core, but i'm talking about GPU usage not CPU power, and i never plan on using the AA for NFSHP2010.

are you trying to say that even if the gpu usage is increased, there wont be any performance increase ?

Yeah, thats why i use a cutsom sli AA bit to get it working with good 50fps. Ive posted the sli profile in the 266.44 thread, but still.

We cant argue about it, the phail was by criterion in first place, not having any AA option in the game. Play it over a plasma and it looks ugly like a 2d sprite.

Also that compatibility flag might also work with the forthcoming Dead Space 2 which more than likely uses the same engine as the first game and won't support AA either. I'd almost put money on Dead Space 2 not having support for AA as the recently released PS3 and Xbox 360 demos don't have any AA whatsoever.

 

The CPU has to feed the GPU, if its not up to the job the GPU will be siting unused, this is more apparent in some game engines more than others, especially at low resolutions and without AA.

Wouldn't be suprised if the Dead Space AA is meant for the sequel, abit of a co-incidence after all this time, but good to see Nvidia is on the job early, hate having to wait for stuff like this to be added, totally puts you off buying a game on release day.

 

hi im currently using the 265.90 Quadro drivers are these any better.. id like the abilty to force AA in nfsHP + two worlds2 + stalker cop.. which i cant do at the moment with quadro drivers

 

i tried different resolutions, the issue remains the same, low GPU usage, and even the FPS remains the same at different resolutions.

 

and you missed the most important part, the game is capped at 60fps..

even if you had 60fps all the time it wouldn't max out your gpu,.. well it depends on the game, but those that are more cpu dependent act like so.

apparently these have your Projector fix.

 

Any comparisons between 266.44 and 266.35?

 

OK, here's the scoop... Antialiasing is broken with GTX580 SLI in a lot of games (depending on the level of AA you apply and the game you're playing) and it causes black screens, while the game still goes on.

Examples that I can give you right now...

BFBC2 will crash when I set it to 16x or 32x but it plays fine at 8x.

Just Cause 2 will crash at 4x and above...

 

so its the same as with 266.44 - buggy AA..

Also I noticed they added a profile for Dead Space 2 aswell which makes me happy for when the game comes out.
