Hey Gurus Need to buy a new Psu for the rig on my sig since Im not feeling confortable. Im looking for the cheapest yet powerful enouth to provide the juice needed. Any recomendation?
Just enough to power up the rig. I plan on OC'ing the CPU and GPU though. Ive got 1 optic drive, 1 HD, 4 120mm Case fans, 2CPU 120mm fans and thats it. Im looking at this one, Thermaltake LitePower 600W +3.3V: 24A +5V: 15A +12V1: 25A +12V2: 20A -12V: 0.3A +5VSB: 2.5A http://novoatalho.pt/ProductDetails.aspx?productid=12755 What do you think?
well for ~$15 more you could go with the corsair 650W or for ~$10 less you could go with the corsair 600W. personally id go with the 650W because itll give you more room to upgrade in the future and its a rock solid PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005
Not buying internationaly and I'm looking for something not too pricey since I'm realy tight on money. How about http://www.alientech.pt/product_info.php?cPath=180_14&products_id=6470 OCZ 500W StealthXStream II ? 2 Rails of 18A each http://www.ocztechnology.com/res/manuals/SXS2_allcharts.jpg
+1 Corsair 650TX is excellent for the price and built by Seasonic. If that costs too much then get Corsair 550VX.
None are available near me anyway. Also, I just spent close to 500e on the rig today and am left with no money whatsoever, hence why I wanted something decent enough to power it up but without blowing the money scale. None of those I linked are decent or worth it? OCZ 550W Fatal1ty http://www.alientech.pt/product_info.php?cPath=180_14&products_id=2534 this is probably as high as I can go...
FML! http://www.corsair.com/products/cx600/default.aspx Corsair CX600? 67€ I think I'm going to kill myself! I don't want to buy something crap because I know Ill repent later but I don't have that much money laying arround , infact, Im only allowed to blow anymore money because otherwise my pc won't work since its lacking a PSU
man never skimp on a psu. it is the single most important part of a rig. buying a cheapo underpowered POS can take out 1 or some of your components when it fails.
Thanks for reminding me, but as I said, I just blew arround 470€ which was everything I could grab and now I cannot spend anything monstruous. My question still prevails, the Corsair CX600 is it gonna cut it?
Corsair VX550 (review) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004 Antec EA650 (review) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...1015&cm_re=antec_ea650-_-17-371-015-_-Product EDIT: I havent found any reviews about that CX600, only CX400 which seems to be "ok" Bi-Tech CX400 review Hardware Secrets CX400 review
Exactly what I was going to say also. If you took the time to drop all that hard earned cash on some nice gear. But at the end want to cut corners on the one of the most important parts of the pc, what was the use in buying at all? Go with quality and you will not be sorry in the end.
Actually buying a PSU was never on my list but fate decided it had to happen, hence why all the fizzle. I'm out of PC and want to get this sorted tomorrow. Lets do it this way: http://www.alientech.pt/index.php?cPath=180_14&page=1&sort=3a Heres the list of possible choices, let me know from top to bottom, what would be worth getting, not exceding the 70€ mark. Regards and sorry for the trouble.
OCZ 600W StealthXStream II http://www.alientech.pt/product_info.php?cPath=180_14&products_id=6471 It is, 69€, best I can get for this price on the local stores and its been reviewd by Guru3D and Overclock3D, both getting the recomended seal award. Thanks and I'll report back, hopefuly, without tears on my face.
Yea I noticed but then again, I only use 1 Optical drive and 1 Hard drive so not realy bothered. Can always use molex adaptors anyway!
psu upgrade imho get only a Brand Name PSU, One LARGE 12V Rail with 50Amps or more. My Pc Power & Cooling 610W Silencer 49A on (1) 12V rail is doing just fine for my evga 680i A1 MoBo with Dual 8800 768MB GTX's with an 8800 320MB GTS for Physx. ATTENTION - that is 3 PCI-x slots(2@x16+1@x8 + 5 PCI-x 6pin connectors. The E8400 is now @ 3.825GHz with 1.40V in Bios and 2x2GB GSkil RAM sticks@2.125V in bios. GTX's are now @ 615/1441/1000. GTS is stock. Check my sig ,yes all powered by a measly 610Watts, ahem albeit a superior designed PSU. 5yr warranty and search the web a bit these people make in the top 1% of the BEST PSU's you can buy. PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk II 750W is a 62A on (1) 12V rail. PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk II 650W (replaces my 610) is 54A on (1) 12V rail. Highly Recomended. Inexpensive too as NOTHING PCP&C makes is cheap. $106.95cdn for 650 and $139.40cdn for 750. When i upgrade i will add another PCP&C PSU to my system and run them together by tapping the Grn and Blk wires in parallel to boot both at same time. i will never get rid of this 610W unless it gives out, been 3yrs now and no end in sight. QUALITY in a PSU above all else. You wouldnt put pump gas in a Ferrari would you? Your PSU is the GAS. . There are a couple of good psu makers out there but i am PCP&C loyal. Do research on Single 12V Rails PSU's, but make no mistake PCP&C are at the TOP of there field. edit since only (1) 12V Rail make as many Pci-x 6 or 8 pin connectors from whatever 12V lines you like. I have. NO PROBLEMS JM2CW and i hope this helps.
The ocz PSU isn't too bad ocz just isn't known for their psu's. I Was suggesting corsair psu's because of the reliability and energy efficiency even though they're a tad more expensive. Just make sure you go with a name brand psu because I tried a no name one a few years back and it caused more issues than it was worth
