Run a custom uninstall to uninstall Display Driver 8.791.0 first then run the custom install to install 8.790.6 (although it is later by date, it is earlier by version number)

    Nice find :)
It's posible to install, or modify for installing this package on desktop cards?

Ok thanks for that info - that worked!

Now my findings for 5970 with this driver:

    Positive
    1. Get about 60FPS according to FRAPS in Eyefinity 6100x1080 with 4xAA, 16xAF, HBOA OFF, VSYNC OFF (with both GPUs @ 900/1200)
    2. According to Afterburner both GPUs are being used at 99% during round. All 2D/3D clock speed switching appear to be working correctly.

    Negative
    1. The random CTD during BFBC2 online rounds is STILL happening
    2. The random texture flickering in BFBC2 is still happening eg. in large areas of "Heavy Metal" big patches of terrain will begin flickering for a while and only stop when you move position / direction.
    3. When I started one online round of BFBC2 something very strange happened in the mouse / keyboard inputs. There was EXTREME lag on mouse movement like 1/2 second before movement followed mouse and the keys eg. "E" to enter vehicle would not work. Quit game and restarted and it was fine then?!?
    4. 3rd monitor connected to Mini DisplayPort -> VGA still turns off when windows sleeps and won't come on until i unplug and replug the DP connector from back of card.

I'll keep these because they are no slower / worse than 10.11 WHQL driver but may be slightly faster. Certainly just as fast as 10.5 was without the bugs to grass etc. in BC2.

I turned HPET On again just for fun yesterday, and I got weird issues similar to what you describe that I don't get with HPET Off, stuttering was back too. The sad thing is Asus have HPET enforced for all is mobo I think.

Someone earlier on called these fakes, they are real.

    Original package was named, amd_win7_vista_radeon_hd6900_8.79.6.2rc2_dec7.exe.

asder00 is on the ball :)
