    Hi

I can't overclock this GPU at all.
First i started with msi afterburner. When I raised the GPU clock from 725 to 775 and I tried to view any video from youtube i get a BSOD or AMD controller stopped working.
Then i tried the ati tray tool and i get the same results.
Then i remember trying with ati overdrive and it worked with the previous values and no problem at all..
    Strange problem isn't it?

I appreciate some help coming from you gurus :)

bye and sorry for my bad english

EDIT- I have already disabled cpu overclock but i get the same results :S

its the shappire game edition... 1 Gb
Even if i increase the voltage i get a BSOD... It's seems to be a limitation from BIOS or something...
But if i do the same overclock through ati overide i get no problem... i can't understand

    i think you mean 'sapphire'?

if yes, go to their website. they have their own trixxx software that supports overclocking on their bios/cards.

Sever i think you solved my problem..
With trixx that problem doesn't happen anymore...
One last question... which is the maximum safe gpu voltage for 24/7? 1,3v? I'll use it only when i'm playing demand games..

    Thanks you all

    Hi

I've overclocking my gpu with the program that sever advised and I get the following overclock:

Is this voltage safe for 24/7? I run an hour of furmark in xtreme mode and i get 75ºC as max temp. Is this acceptable?

Looks good. 1hr of furmark and 75C is quite excellent since that's about as stressful as you can get. Voltage should be fine too. I run my launch Sapphire 5850 at 900/1200 @1.1V (go back to default when not in game) <-- yeah, got pretty darn lucky here. This will drive my temps over 70c in furmark easily with the old stock cooler.

What do I need to search for to get TriXX? Is it part of the 10.11 package?

EDIT: Never mind. Need to join Sapphire Select.

EDIT2: It says: "Get the Optimum Performance with SAPPHIRE TriXX Utility (HD 6800 series only)" and you need a serial number of an 68xx series to be eligible for download.

So this won't work with a 5850 then? Shuter, is it working for you, I see you have a 5850 in your equipment list.

This one doesn't work for me and it the screen looks different. It says: "Could not connect to low-level driver. Please reinstall Trixx."

Maybe it's because I'm still at Catalyst 10.5a, since newer versions make BC2 crash at times.

Thanks, Rik55. This one fires up, but as soon as I press "Apply" my whole system hardlocks.

    Hi

Thanks Rik55... Couldn't find the new version :)
    Brazen follow this link:
    http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=74630

You need to make some tries to sucessfull overclock your GPU. Mine isn't very good for overclock. There are people that have the core and memory equal or even higher then mine with less voltage..
You must remeber.. The aren't equal gpu's :).. each card is a card
If you need help i'm at your dispose

its because youre running dual gpus so the ultra low power state thing is enabled. you need to run regedit, search for all strings in your registry that say 'enableulps' (theres a find function) and set all their values to 0. then reboot, and try overclocking again and it wont freeze.

maybe i am to oldschool...but you want to try using the CCC and make an OC by increasing the frequency 5 by 5 hertz, and test the board everytime when you stop OC'ing.

ccc doesnt support voltage changes. that and the 'stress test' isnt really stressful. back when i had my 5850s, the stress test only put 20% load on my gpus, which is nowhere near stressful enough to determine if my card is stable at a particular overclock or not.

Sapphire Trixx is amazing. It works on the 5800 series and it allows you to bypass the overclock frequency cap that is in CCC.

Well right now i have a new problem.
    I've the following oc values:

    Core Clock: 870 Mhz
    Memory: 1170 Mhz
    GPU Voltage: 1,187 V

However, i can't pass this values without BSOD or freeze (with low temps) , even if i increase the voltage to 1.250. Strange isn't it? I think that i got a bad card for oc.

Note: With the previous values, i got BSOD when playing demand games....
