Try it when you're not Jewish.
For many people, innocent people, it is 4 hours of interrogation. If you're not profiled, it is fine. If you are, you're ****ed.
Also, this type of intensive screening just won't work for a nation that has hundreds of airports and tens of thousands of flights a day. Israel has 2 airports.
Finally, our profiles cover far more people. We have the added issue of people who look like this
    [IMG]
    blowing **** up.

Like anything else, there should be balance between common sense, and security.I'm all for high measures of caution, security, screenings, etc. This is a bit much though.
People do tend to forget, before 9/11 the US was targeted in Yemen, NYC, and a few other places. In general, the American people were outraged that there weren't more security measures, and actions taken against our enemies.
Now it's Bush this, Bush that- before it was Clinton didn't this, or Bush didn't do that.I don't think the public will ever be truly happy.Hell, there were even people debating on Mr. Nichols there^

In all, I'm glad this stuff isn't being neglected, but again, it's gone a bit extreme.

You know what, when I was deployed in the Judea and Samaria, the Arabs were happy that there were troops around.

You know why? Because it is the best police force. They don't worry about thieves or abusive and corrupt PA policemen. They say good morning to me and offer me coffee, but I guess you know that. I still remember what one older Arab told me in Hebron, he told me that they view the "peace activists" (honestly almost all anarchists) as international spies and trouble makers, his words not mine.

Ironically, last time I was in a U.S. airport I received a full pat down search (metal buckle belt :( ). And I am fine with that.

EDIT: But you know what, I can never win an argument against someone who has all the knowledge, or so he thinks. Just like I don't cast a final opinion about local politics where you live, I think I should enjoy the same courtesy. If you want to form an educated opinion, come here and live.

I think it does, you can make the argument that you're going voluntarily and thus voluntarily offering yourself up for such searches, but should the government have that ability, to require a search to do "X" thing?

Body Scanner Operator Caught Masturbating at Colorado Airport

DENVER - USA - A full body scanner operator was caught masturbating during a scanning session by airport staff late Tuesday.

Airport officials at Denver International airport were on high alert yesterday when a full body scanner operator was caught masturbating in his booth as a team of High School netball players went through the scanner.

"The young ladies were going through the scanner one by one, and every time one went through, this guys face was getting redder and redder. His hand was moving and then he started sweating. He was then seen doing his 'O' face. That's when the security dragged him out of his booth and cuffed him. He had his pants round his ankles and everybody was really disgusted," Jeb Rather, a passenger on a flight to New York told CBS news...

They don't require a search to fly:
    http://www.seaportair.com/
They do on certain airlines. (Based on size)
Flying is extremely regulated. This is just another regulation.

This has nothing to do with airport security. I'm not talking about Israel beyond airport security. Israeli airport methods won't work here.

We all know this is a joke right?

The comments section was a good laugh after I saw the names of the other articles on the site. Clever site, fairly convincing if you don't pay much attention.

It always saddens me that number of crazy, stupid, and/or ignorant people that come out of the woodwork in threads like this (just on Guru3D). It's the biggest reason I don't stop by here much any more.

Thousands more people die in the US because they don't have access to adequate medical care than by terrorists. All pat downs and scans used to take away the privacy of a person flying with no actual safety benefits could save lives if they were used in medicine. Many people fought healthcare reform tooth and nail because of goverment intervention/expansion of goverment, and so many people are apathetic or even supporting in this gross violation of privacy in the name of safety and saving lives. And then there's the radiation issue, with thousands of machines across the country any single one could have a fault or bug in the code that causes it to leak extra radiation. Unlike CTs the backscatter machines deposit their radiation on the skin, greatly increasing the risk of skin cancer for the dose of radiation. TSA employees that operate them all day aren't allowed to wear radation badges. It truly boggles the mind how people are perfectly fine with this.

    Sorry, must have misunderstood you.

The thing is, most airports already use Israeli security standards except for profiling. Dogs, scanners, background checks, etc. Most airlines now have secured cockpits.

Profiling would be mighty difficult in the U.S., however limited profiling might help. For example, when was the last time someone from Jamaica did a terrorist attack :p .
