Those framerates are BS or their computer runs like crap.Heres screenshots right from my computer a minute ago.And I guess you cant read, because it says cpu tests not gpu tests.

Are you saying you can have too much fps?

Usually either gpu or cpu will be a bottleneck, fine thats a fact of life. But until either one is, there is really no use to not have 100% usage in either (or both).

This is ofc particularly valid in online games. I myself play bfbc2, and I would probably agree with you in singleplayer games, but still, no point in buying expensive hardware then, is there.

Ps. I retract my earlier statement. 263.06 is smoother (less stuttering) and gives more fps in bfbc2.

I havent run into a game yet that made me feel like I had a cpu bottleneck. It might bottleneck in benchmarks, but not games.I play BFBC2 too and my cpu usage is around 70% most of the time and it plays perfectly smooth.

Dude i can post pictures where i get 200 fps its gameplay that counts. Its just not possible that 9950 can match overclocked C2Q and i7.

Oh forget it then. You go out and buy $1000 cpus and ill stick to the $150 ones that work perfect in any game.

Try looking at that link above again.Thats not cpu benchmarks. Those are cpu usage charts. An I7 isnt going to have anymore cpu usage than my 9950 if the game dont want it to.

At first, the benches from the link are done in 1920x1200.
    Hog54 plays at 1680x1050.

Then we don't know exactly what level is used and how the bench is done.

Add to that the results are only average and minimum framerates and it's with a HD5970, more CPU bound than a single GPU card. When you see that @ 1680x1050, the GTX460 is faster (~equal in fact) to a far more powerful HD5870..

    It seems correct to me.

Shut the **** up with your ridiculous pointless 100 vs 200 fps e-peen flexing and start talking about if these drivers are good or not!!!!!
Coming to the Guru3D forums and hiting "last page" in the latest driver thread to see what the general consensus is, isnt what it used to be. Sigh.

    +1:)

I agree, let's keep to the topic fellow gurus..

So about these drivers... Used them for some days now, and no problems with them on my end. They perform well in all the games I have tried them with( L4D, COD Black Ops, CS:S, Crysis, Far Cry 2, Metro 2033, Fallout New Vegas and Mafia 2). I'd say these drivers are pretty much the same as the 262.99 set.

PS: I must say I'm very happy with my GTX 580:banana:

I'm pretty sure I have the 32 bit version. I tried them all anyways... It will not install!

Sounds like you have the international version of the drivers...

how is your setup perform with 750w psu?

do you experience bsods or lockups in games, especially those physx ones, mafia 2, batman:AA?

Why? a good 750 Watt PSU is more then Enough for a Geforce GTX 580.

When you Play Crysis the Geforce GTX 580 will only take 389 watt and when
you use FurMark & X it will use 452 Watt and not any more, so yes a good
750 Watt PSU is good Enough, also when you use a Geforce 8800GT or 250 as
    PhysX Card.

And that with a Intel Core i7-920 OC to 3.33GHz.

There are other components in a computer system which require power aside from graphics cards, which is likely why he was curious. 750w seems to be pushing it. I have an 860w with a 920 3.8 ghz overclock, a sound card, raid controller and 6 hard drives. Then add in multiple fans.

    Stuff adds up.
