This is the very reason I refuse to purchase anymore of their COD releases. Had issues with World at War and MW2. Will wait for first patch to be released, then maybe.
Wish they could release a DEMO or at the very least a benchmark utility. I'm not buying the game unless i have proof it will run with my outdated processor.

to me so far this game is a blast despite the lags. the Nuketown map is so much fun. but yeah, mw2's iwnet works fine out of the box.
Games a pile of bullsh**, SP is all over the place in terms of performance, and being unable to play zombies offline is just pathetic (unless im missing something?) It tells me that Black Ops servers are unavailable and to check their crappy site for server status (which said was ONLINE when i checked 2 seconds later). Fu** this game.
i wish i can say this to face of the CEO or something of the developer company. This is like a very RUDE SWEARING to our face.
Lol paying 59 usd and not able to play it in the firstb24 hours. Sorry but mw2 was awesome in the first day and we played it whole night long in the firstbday.
How do i select offline? iv tried both the normal game exe and the MP exe... i cant seem to find anything on it.... If i cant atleast get Zombie Mode to work.. im affraid this game will be happily uninstalled and completely removed from this PC.
run black ops single player then select zombies at main menu then it gives u option of online or solo at least in my game anyways weird that its not showing up for you
Tried that, soon as i click on "ZOMBIES" i get a black screen with an error: Call of Duty Black Ops servers unavailable, please check www.callofduty.com/BlackOps/Status for server updates. It gives me no choices to play either online or solo.
I just played zombie mode offline. The online lobby is busted, shows players but will not load. Single player is lame can't disable the crosshairs player moves like I'm on roller skates. AI is dumb, FAIL!

Game runs fine for me, 1920x1080 and 8xAA, everything highest/on (vsync off) - and somehow FPS always seems to be exactly 91 (not that the monitor can display that much anyway). Completed it in about 5 hours, more or less (on regular)... Good game to be honest. Not an IW production, that much is clear, but it's actually playable, in contrast to WaW and CoD3... It's a bit weak from the start, but as more things are revealed and the puzzle finally starts to unwrap, it gets a whole lot better. And of course... dedicated servers (with a server browser) is truly a bliss. EDIT: WhiteLightning; It's not MW2, but it's definitely also worth playing through. It does start out a bit slowly, and it's sort of confusing till you get further, but that's all part of the mystique. It's actually good, but I can only imagine how great it'd have been if Infinity Ward had made it. Except for the multiplayer part... They'd probably use IWnet and mess that all up again.
