I think you are wrong... I checked those pictures and found nothing wrong with those. Could you tell me what picture you were exactly talking about so can check if I find that error you found.
Holy ****, i hope the price isnt real. 500eur ? I could buy 2x HD6870 and some custom cooling for them and got some spares for beer.
Those are that cheap in Poland ? Here you could only get 2*HD6870 and have nothing left. And 6870 was not that impressive card, sure it's mid-range, but I want to compare it to 5870 because of the name. It did scale well in crossfire, but meh.
Damn. when did it become more expensive for stuff in the UK? Apart from the little burst of cheap 6870's from one site when the card released, all the 6870's i see are around £200, which works out as €228, how much are the 1gb GTX460's? I don't see the card being €500, but who knows, threre is usually a premium for having the top single GPU card, and Nvidia are usually the first to exploit that end of the market, not that i will be getting the GTX580 though, too expensive, and more than likely too hot for my liking, i could add a second 460 for similar performance, heat etc, and that would only cost me £145 (€165)
We here in SA always get ripped off. Club3d 6870 1GB = R2555.14 = +-/7 $365.02 Sapphire 6870 1GB = R3323.01 = +-/7 $474.72 What the hell ? Should be like +-R1700
Cheapest 6870 i've seen is at Scan. Its like £191.15, which is about €219 i think. The cheapest 1GB 460's are around £145. Have you seen todays review of the Gigabyte SOC 1GB 460? Its priced around £175 and actually outperforms a 470 at stock in a couple benchmarks and comes really close in others lol As for the price of the 580, i think €500 isn't to far off the mark, maybe €450
The 815mhz super OC one? Got an email from OCUK about that, looks a great card, and they are doing it for £169.19, if i wasn't off on holiday on Monday i would def get a second one for SLI. If the GTX580 does actually launch, and its before the 6970 i wouldn't be suprised if they overprice it at the start, but it will probably drop drastically when the 6970 appears, unless that turns out to be a good bit slower, but i don't see it. Edit: Guess Fraps wasn't working lol. I'm at work, so can't overcheck stuff, but do those results not look abit low?
As it would any other card..? [EDIT] Just tried Heaven 2.1 on my 480 @ 825/1650/4200 and got FPS: 45.0 Scores: 1134 Min FPS: 14.9 Max FPS: 87.0 So the 580 looks like it might be equal to a 480 with an average overclock, I wonder how well the 580 overclocks
Found some slides from nvidia's presentation: Stone Giant is a cool game, who played it? P.S. Nvidia don't know that 6870 is middle end card, they think that is AMD's flagship and compare it to 580.
the 460 1gb version is € 147,30 i can see the 580 being 500 euro btw, the 480 was around that price at launch. my 8800gtx was more expensive LOL gotta love nostalgia i certainly hope the 580 wont be 600 euro. its a guessing game , untill it gets released. no one knows....... /me puts on Queens of the stoneage record..
€147,30 grrrrr I hope Nvidia don't go too high, but you know them, the second they get the fastest card, the slam the price up to stupid levels. I just think it should be cheaper as the 8800GTX was an insane card at the time, and the GTX480 cost them a fortune, the 580 is just a refresh, so shouldn't of cost them as muchm, so i think €400 would be much more reasonable, instead of pricing it at over 3times as much as the GTX460.
Almost the same as my scores. If that's true, then properly OCed 5970 finally has a single-gpu DX11 rival... ... Oh wait
the asus 480gtx is € 374,01 over here. i wonder how much more the 580gtx will be. if its higher then 500, you could get a 480 and a 460 for that lol .
lol so true, they can fail at so many levels.. And those benchmarks that heaven's_dragon posted, nothing special.. why not use extreme tessellation like in that leaked 6970 bench.. looks like they're to scared
