The newest. the 7.00.21.xx.xx are the newest. the oldest and originals were the 7.00.1A.xx.xx

 

Hi all, has anyone tried this bios with a 480 that isn't a gigabyte or evga? i've got an inno3d one and would preciate any feedback.

My gigabyte used to run on an Inno3D reference bios. Therefore I suppose it is also 99.9% compatible with your inno3d 480 as well, except it is a preoverclocked, watercooled or whatever non-reference PCB card.

 

In your opinion, idle mode power consumption is 52 watt's - with 0.60v watts is reduced to how much ?

And my stable clock's :

700 With 0.99
750 With 1.050v
800 With 1.100v
850 With 1.150v

What is your card voltage is stable in these cases

Just a question: does the Bios fix unvoid the warranty of the 480?

When I boot the flashing utility, an error message appears: something like "PCI subsystem mismatch", or something like that.

I got a Colorful Gtx480 with Bios version 70.00.1A.00.02.

 

If you look at the idle power on THIS page, you can see the 480 is lower than a 5870's. so either the processor was a higher usage than on a 480, or the 480 actually DOES have a lower idle wattage due to the 51 mhz core , 101mhz shader and 135mhz for the memory. so if you take the idle voltage all the way down to .6v, then you are shaving off about 3-4 amps of power just at idle. now in wattage i dont really take the time to convert, but i'd assume it could be a lowly 30 watts maybe less.

But 3 Billion capacitors help this benefit A LOT

 

I see that Colorful is a China-based company and therefore they are being communists and not letting you flash your card :grin:. just kidding.

But i know for a fact that this bios works on gainward, EVGA, and Zotac 480's so far.

There is a way to proceed past the error by typing -4 -5 -6 and then it'll ask you for confirmation to write to the ROM. Do this with caution, but it SHOULD work since every 480 ive seen so far has taken any bios upgrade and are pretty much all manufactured the same (unless your SKU adds something like a chip with a higher quality power PWM).

But before you do this, if you can, make sure you have another card available if this flash goes wrong.
