Looks like next month AMD is going to introduce a series of new Radeon graphics cards. With each week more and more specs and information leaks on the web. PCinLife an Asian site has obtained a slide... More...
Looks good, when next month? Early i hope wanna see how a 6770 performs against my GTX275! When do the 6800 Seris get released then? November?
Holy crap. Well, that seals it. If these are real, AMD all the way. With a mild overclock I think a 6750 will be almost as fast as a 5850. And a 6770 will easily beat a 5850.
yep, looks like i made the right calculation when i said 1920sp on 6870 .:nerd: SI is gonna be a bomb, can't wait for true NI!
Yep, specs look great. Can't wait to see wot the high end parts deliver. Also pricing will be interesting, especially on the 6770 - could be a great price-performance ratio on that card, assuming it will be cheaper than a 5850.
Well, 5870 is atm the high end (fastest) AMD chip on the market. Consider that rumors are about 6770 mid range card so I do not think it will be close to 5870 performance. Wish that AMD can raise the bar that much but doubt it. Let's wait for some benchmarks before get too optimistic.
well its a new generation of chips, not just a rebrand/OC of the 5000 series. but I agree wait for benchies before we get too optimistic/pessimistic.
Impressive cant wait for the Antilles 6970. Hopefully be stock clocked 900-950 core so easy OC to over a ghz.
Maybe its the small window im viewing this so not to get caught at work, but where on there does it suggest that the 6770 will be 5870 performance? According to that, the 6770 will be slightly above 5850 performance, but not near 5870 performance, AMD would be pissing money away to release the 6770 that fast Have to say looking forward to see if the high end cards turn out as well, around a 50% increase for the 6770 over previous gen, so the 6870 should have a clear 30%+ increase over the GTX480, hopefully the price it below the GTX480, but now that its AMD and they have the advantage, i think they may go similar or higher.
for fps matters...i suppose the difference between 5870 and 6770 will be about 3-5 fps at stock and not all games(dont forget a new chip, gets different behavior with newer drivers...i can say it will overtake 5870 in every new title for 2011)...generally...but OC'ed with less power consuption and heat for newbie 6770, and better dx11 computing i suppose in terms of pricing and scalability, it wins...because surely it will be cheaper even from the repriced 5870...c1: but i am anxious...about the 6850...it will be the sweet spot for hardcore gamers...and 6870 will be the breaker of all benchmarks...these two...even single cards...will be a dream until 28nm from both companies come out...:wanker:
It will be around the 5870 if those specs are correct, if so, then thats very impressive for the mid-range card, means the high-end is gona be a killer, looking like the 6 series are going to be quite an increase in performance Some more info here :- http://vr-zone.com/articles/-rumour-amd-barts-xt-hd-6770-faster-than-hd-5850/9931.html
perosmct, 3-5fps, how very exact of you, i wouldn't feel comfortable predicting that sort difference with different drivers on the same card, how your managing to get such exact figures about unreleased cards is beyond me. As i said, im only glancing a peak at work, but according to that slide, everything on the 6770 looks to be around 50% faster than the 5770, but around 25% slower than the 5870. While AMD have made a good amount of money from the 5k series, i don't think they are wanting to half the price of them just yet, while it looks like the 6k cards could be up to 50% faster, i don't think that will instantly make the 5k cards 50% cheaper.

^ very innnnteresting. For a while now I've been contemplating what to do in the gpu arena. stick with 5 series and xfire? Wait for new 6 series and full upgrade, or jump ship and go with the green machine. Looking at these numbers I can't say I am not intrigued. I mean a 6770 oc will be around on par with 5870? Even if that is a bold claim that isn't exactly the truth, knowing that it will beat out a 5850 is motivation enough to grab one regardless. At 900mhz core there is almost certainty that it will clock up to a ghz and could very well best the 5870. I predict this card to MSRP for anywhere between 200-235US. If the specs and rumors are true. Maybe I'm being a bit hopeful with the price, but I beleive AMD wants to make a big splash with this series to put Nvidia behind the 8 ball again.
Sounds very impressive on paper, but its still just educated guesswork, so but i will believe it when i see it transferred into actual gaming performance. Hopefully i'm way off on the pricing, and the 6770 can manage near 5870 performance for less than £150. This would be a nice step in the right direction for PC hardware, if people are spending less on hardware, then maybe they will spend more on actual games. Would also mean that i could grab a second GTX460 for less than £100, or even get a 6770 and use the GTX460 for PhysX, but that is unlikely at the moment given AMD's lack of progress with 3D gaming, which is quite important to me. It will make the 5770 very cheap, and the perfect card for a HTPC, with some casual gaming.
