    Hi everybody!
Now that I finally have time and money to upgrade from an old PIV to a dual-core solution, I also decided to change a 'red' GPU to a 'green' one.
As of now, middle-range DX11 GPUs (460 series) do not fit the budget, and the 8800GT looks like a reasonably fast and inexpensive DX9-10 / OpenGL card for my display resolution (17", 1280x1024).

So here's the question to current - and former - 8800GT owners.

Which ForceWare versions can you recommend? And which versions are 'no go'?
(I know that there are no 'best' drivers, and will be testing different drivers myself. However I'd like to receive some suggestions so as to shorten the selection list).

    Thank you all in advance!

yo, i currently switched back to XTreme-G 258.96 Drivers, i had clock issues with latest 260 beta driver, artifacts and freezes even on standard clock, if you have no problems with 260.63 beta, then use this, else is 258.96 pretty good to me.

You won't regret the 197.13. It is the best for 8800s and 9800s. Don't bother with the 258s and 260s they're designed with series 400 GPUs in mind. Although they will work too.

197.45 seems to be less smooth then 258.96 driver for me, in older dx8 also in newer dx9 games.

NeuroFunkeR, thanks fot the input on 197. 45 and 258.96!
BTW, how is GPU Flash / HD Video acceleration working with 258.96? Any lockups, black screens etc?
(With an ATI card and wrong drivers — where wrong = not by TwL :) — the above had often been the case, so I'd better make sure).

Ok, Xtreme-G 258.96 seems to be best for me, performs good in new games, and ok in old, i've tried 185.81, but i had buged AF, it didnt appear in many games, plus performance was worse then in 258, i also like in newest driver, that HUE color coorection thing, my LCD monotor has unrealisticly lemon-like yellow color, and i can make it abit darker with it, so it looks more neat. After few days messing around with drivers, i think 258.96 is best solution for me. 260.63 were quite good in performance, but u couldn't adjust contrast, i got some werird artifacts, and i couldn't overclock my GPU with this driver as well.
