I did a clean and reinstall of 10.5a drivers and 10.8a Profile apps. Got very nice gains in BC2. Hardly touched 100fps, now averaging over 100fps.

Did not run any benches as I only care about in game performance.

Seeing crossfire improvments across a few of my other games as well. Definetly worth trying out that 10.8a CAP.

If your a 4870x2 user dont go any higher than the 10.5a on the display driver so you dont loose a core.

Worth a shot X2 users if 10.8 drivers are not working for you, plus you gain in crossfire.

Do you uninstall the previous profiles before installing the ones? It's not a huge thing to do, just wondering if that's really the best way to go about it.

Remember guys that many games just detect the video card settings once (first run)
so Id recommend you guys force the program to redetect (some has that as a button inside, others require the removal of a file or just running it in safe mode )

for example Bc2 didnt let me add crap graphic wise with my 3870, reinstalled and thus I could add more AA options & stuff with my 5870.

It will not install properly on my 3300 integrated graphic. I got it for video improvements, but i had to downgrade to 10.7.

I don't know if any of you guys have this problem, but after installing Catalyst 10.8 driver, my rig need more time to load windows and all startup files (running MSI Afterburner, Windows Sidebar, etc) rather then when I'm still using 10.5 And when I'm using 10.5 Catalyst, never got crash when playing online games (in this case, Seal Online), but when I'm using 10.8 Catalyst, I got random crash when playing online games. So------> back to 10.5 again :(

Did you uninstall/reinstall MS Visual C++ along with your driver? Not sure if that will help you but it helped me in BC2.

Just an updated, my crossfire is working again! I'm running 10.8's with the 10.8a CAPs.

It was very odd, but I removed one card -- booted into windows -- Shutdown -- Reinstalled card -- Booted back up and sure as hell it detected and the second card as linked.

Weird but it works now =)

P.S. Operation Arrowhead flickers and freaks out with crossfire enabled, GJ ATI.

Are you using CCC or in game settings? Just trying to get an understand of your post because it was a bit vague.

No that is wrong. Newest profile do NOT include the older profiles.

If you have Catalyst 10.5, you should install ALL catalyst application profiles released after 10.5. Rage3D stores all profiles released on their homepage..

I can't change my CCC desktop display setings ever since installing 10.8 Anyone else having similar issues? The controls in CCC seem locked

    **edit

    Re-install fixed it. Weird.

Umm you need to finish reading. It says newer DRIVERS include fixes from previous app profile updates.

    From the FAQ:

"Older versions of Application Profiles don't need to be installed, just those (THIS IS PLURAL) newer than the driver release - for example, if you install Cat 10.3, you don't need the 10.2 Profile Update. You only need updates (AGAIN, THIS IS PLURAL) that are newer than your drivers."
