I loaded up Crysis and played a few levels, and I noticed a lot more framerate dips compared to the 259.32 drivers.

Switched back to 259.32, and the framerate dips and stutters disappeared, so it had to be the 259.47 drivers that was causing them.

Thanks for that, will keep these on the HTPC, seem very stable so far, but will stick with the 259.32 on my gaming one, since they have been the best drivers so far for my GTX460.

Updated to 259.47, restarted and DPC latency are still off the chart when streaming - exactly as it was with previous drivers.

What is DPC latency...? Sorry if this seems noobish but you dont know until you ask.

Might try these out. Will these be the WHQL driver that Nvidia is meant to release soon or is that going to be from the 260.xx family as I have heard a lot of people talking about a 260.xx driver release soon...

    Thanks.

No , these don't have the gpu/stutter fixes meant for next week nor do they have the gothic 1-2 fixes due after. Still don't know why people don't wait till monday-wednesday

NVIDIA should take time a release a GOOD driver for the GTX 400 series. They are feeding us the same crap release after release. Fingers cross for the next 260 series driver

Can you elaborate on the "stutter fixes?"

That explains why they are complete sh!t then.

The 259.32 drivers are actually very good, the best yet for my 480s..

They are marked as HP/Compaq - OEM at LV2G (yes, I was the one who posted it there too) because of the package's NVBL.inf file which specifically supports the Quadro mobile GPUs for HP's business notebook line.

This package contains a second INF file that most of us will use due to compatibility, and that's the NV_WHQL.inf which makes compatibility universal for all GPUs since GeForce 6.

Spectacular, us users with GTX 460s are having a lot of issues, and there has not been one solid driver release yet. I have yet to try these, but I expect nothing to be fixed. People complain about ATI drivers sucking, but my god Nvidia is far worse IMO.

I have sound crackling issues with the previous whql and beta drivers, probably caused by high dpc latency. But this happens only when I listen to the music in winamp or in other players.
As soon as I uninstall the nvidia drivers everything is ok.
    Will try this new beta...

sigh , the gothic problems relates to ALL nvidia cards !

The low gpu usage relates to ALL nvidia cards including the Gtx 2xx range

The BfBc 2 stutter problems relate to the GTX 4xx range

Won't keep explaining it , i'm in a ****ty mood today

You seem to be missing the point.

What should've sticked from his explanatios is PHYSX > GPU ...

In other words, put it on GPU instead of CPU OR AUTO ofcourse !
AUTO will choose CPU probably, and you need to choose GPU, ALWAYS !

Issues with me personally, are multiple games crashing that did not when I had my 4870 installed. Crysis, Dragon Age, The Witcher, DOW II, the list goes on. I like how cool and quiet this card runs, but for stability sake, I like ATI better.
