Nvidia To Fix Dx7

Yes as far as i know. But there was game related issues. Usually, current games that use old APIs (or OpenGL also) dont have good support for both ATi and nVidia, just one of them, again, usually nVidia.

 

Gothic games dont work yet... ah 260... when are they due??

Great news, I'll be able to have BG works on my PC again.

 

Nvidia bought out 3dfx not "voodoo". Anyways, Nvidia did in fact try to release a "3dfx" brand series card. It was the GeForce 5 series of cards, which if you recall did not do all that well...

 

Has there been any updates on this? , any news on the 260 driver

 

Next wednesday beta driver based on 260.xx branch will be released if nothing goes horribly wrong.

When can we see a fix for Fallout 3, i have to go back to 180x driver everytime i want to play the game, and that is very often since i mod it alot... annoying as heck i must say

 

wow im surprised all the ati guys didnt jump on here and talk crap about how lame nvidia is for the dx7 bug, considering you guys flooded the ati forum about poor 2d performance on ati cards........(which is fixed and has been for a long time)

so how about posting some dx7 benchmarks? lol

 

dx7 games do not work with nvidia cards ? shameee,i wouldn't change my Sapphire 5770 for a GTX 480 even if you pay me.its not trolling its my personal oppinion.bleah nvidia.

 

Oldest game i played on sli 280's was marine sharpshooter 1,2,3,4 lol talk about sh1tty graphics lol

Ha you an me both, i've never played it but recently been obsessed with Risen and Gothic 3 so dying to try out 2!

 

ATI has a strict policy of adhering to standards....so, as new OpenGL versions come out, performance degrades for games based on older versions.

 

Who cares? Only fanboys would keep track of silly things like that! You are also comparing apples to oranges, the 2d bug was a much bigger problem. Yes it was fixed (just like the DX7 issue for Nvidia will be fixed) so I'm not quite sure why you had to mention that it was fixed. You did speak too soon as the very next post was an ATI fanboy LOL.

Pro tip: If you live your life not caring about fanboy squabbles and keeping mental lists of what one side did to the other, life is much more enjoyable.

 

I bought Gothic Universe in October and haven't been able to play it since. I really hope that we see a DX7 fix in the new betas.
