I love this so far, and I think I found something humerous. When you shoot the fat guy and your carrying your friend away, frantically hit e and scan the floor. You will see some adult material hehe... randomly found his and rofled.
- Just finished the Demo, that was something - Will be a cool game with very interesting story. - Performance is very good, but not enough, we need a hotfix for this game.
Question to 470/480 people: what results do you get in the benchmark and overall in-game with AA and PhysiX to High (everything else maxed/enabled)? Is it playable at 1920x1200?
i've a gtx 460 1go oc and i play at 1920*1080. so, believe that it's a gtx470 at 1920*1200 plz. The benchmark is very poor, around 13 fps. And ingame, its better, but not enough for say its OK. The game is not optimized
I´ve played the demo a bit and this seems like a very decent game. The problem is that this game seems no different or better than GTA4. So i don´t know if it´s really worth the buy.
K, I've got Physx working on the GPU instead of the CPU which was causing the awful FPS. Here's what I did, I'm not sure what got it work out of these steps, but it did. Uninstall Physx from Control Panel. Go to Mafia 2 folder in Steamapps folder and manually install the Physx SS in there. Go to Nvidia control panel and set Physx mode to CPU only, hit apply, set Physx mode to auto and hit apply. Voila' 35fps on 2x overclocked 460's maxxed at 1080p instead of 10 in the refinery......... Fluidmark now works again, and so does Batman.
I wish nVidia actually worked on the all platform physx to make it equal, instead of botching it on purpose so that their cards version is so much better.
there was the same issue with cyrostasis, you need to disable it in nvcpl so it worked in hw ingame odd i know.. im dl now, gonna see in a few moments.
Hmm, over 60fps almost the entire time in the benchmark (without physx that is, with physx is a nightmare) Does AA work on nVidia cards? Because the jaggies are killing me here
it seems to work on object edges that are close far away objects don't seem to be anti aliased very good. and distant objects are a bit blurry, kinda like Unreal Engine 3 games but thankfully not so much
strange game.... on 1280x1024 i have 50% gpu usage and framerate of 20... when i set resolution to 1600x1200 (70 - 90% gpu usage) the frames stay @ 60 with everything on high...lol? anyway, shadows look kinda blueisch... greetz Beta
