Put the finishing touches on my rig today, finished her off with a CPU cooler from Akasa.. dropped my load temps by 6-8 degrees
Just like how a mans watch or shoes show off his charisma and style, the same goes for your PC. I always say treat your rig as part of your apartment, bedroom, or your car. If you have "company" over, the ladies love it, especially when you have a nice clean case with lights. Not blinding lights, but just enough to see the goods, even though most girls dont know what is what. In my experience, girls live the big side panels and of course the big screens. Then they will say it looks like a "fishtank" >_> Is that a modular PSU? If it is not, then you should tuck away all the cables you dont need in the bottom area. Put the CPU cable pinned behind the video card near the PCIe gap. For the GPU, only have the necessary amount of the PCIe cable coming from the bottom.
Personally agree 1000% with this post........with cable managament the case looks more professional and clean
Nice one... I have the same Antec Case as you. I suggest that you put all the cables behind the mother board since you can them pass from the bottom compartment (where the psu is) to the top one. There are holes just above the P8 connector (for the CPU) and one close the ATX-24. Same things goes for the graphic card. So if your cables are long enough I would suggest to put all of them behind. I agree that if you have lot of them you will have to force a bit to close the right panel
The only concern you should have with cable management is performance. I have good cable management but I did it mainly for the 5870 so I remains in one state, perfect, which it is! It's going to be highly unlikely that anyone comes and suddenly says 'Can I see inside my computer'. When my computer had a graphics card faulty, my family went balistic when I opened the case! I guess you live in a more free world than my constraint self! Enjoy your computer friend, you deserve it completely! P.S I'm not sure if I deserved mine though! :S XD
nice rig.don't know what the others are fussing about cause there isn't much room for the cables cause your power supply is at the bottom of the case where the video card is making it very clustered but imo not much you can do to the cable.
That case has very good cable managment, everything can be routed behind the backplate. I know because I have it.
Haha thanks guys! nearly wet myself laughing at the cable management comments hehe! I do have slight OCD with regards to cleanliness and tidiness so im proper embarrassed now lmao! i'll get stright to it It was a bit of a pain to get the PSU in, and as I took to whole thing apart I wanted to ensure everything was working correctly before fiddling with the cables.. I wasn't aware the cables could go behind the back plate of the motherboard, what an awesome idea, thanks guys! Any of you wanna show me how its done? Pics please...
Here are 2 pictures. Let say that it is probably not the best you can do but as I said, it is hard to put all the cables behind when you have a bunch of those I noticed you put your HDD in top compartment. I think it is better to put them in the bottom one. As you can see my 2 HDD are in front the PSU. Took with my crappy blackberry... so no comment on quality
By the way, I noticed that you are using 3 RAM sticks That means you are not running in dual channel mode. Then it is still the same question, is it worth to run dual channel? Well, I would say yes (because one extra mem stick is not that expensive) but it is really up to you…
