The Demo version of Mafia II for PC is confirmed and is coming on August 10th:banana: http://twitter.com/Mafia2Game/
For me it will be APEX off/low, ambient occlusion off! Hopefully it will run a bit better than the original did on a 1.3Ghz PIII and a Radeon 8500 tho.
More comparisons of various settings. http://www.gamestar.de/spiele/mafia-2/artikel/technik_vorschau_mafia_2,43581,2316352.html EDIT: As with the above settings screen (No texture quality level for example.) only difference would be shadows with or without ambient occlusion and of course the PhysX effect and a bit of AA and some other minor differences.
so the thing that video trying to say is, ATI owners will be jealous and NVIDIA owners will be happy ? it seems like..and FFS, what TI does? eyefinity? pfff.. i already purchased MAFIA 2 from STEAM. Hope my system can handle it.. with PHYSX on indeed...
Why doesn't Nvidia stomp its feet and say we are better with Physx and all of the other pointless trickery, I always hated Physx, even back all the way from Ageia and that stupid physics demo of a "game" that they called it, which wasnt even worth to carry an obligation to remember. Just release the damn game already..on second thought, who thinks it will run better on ATi ?
More and more games it's released with this PhysX, or some sh!t like Apex, but I newer buy any Nvidia Sh!t, I am on ATI and will buy, only, ATI Cards .
well, i have doubt to run it at max FULL HD with physx on on a single 285 :S maybe it also depends on how game is well optimized..if its like GTA4 then no way to activate PHYSX on a single 285 or 280 :/
From the recomended specs they released this far... it looks grimm, this is really the kind of game that screams in your face to buy a fermi card. :bang:
Im looking forward too see how my system runs it, im thinking of changing this 260 for a 460, and got a physX card allready so think it might run half decent, i like games that push the envolope abit anyway, nice to have something to look forward to when you upgrade.
The now deceased PC ZONE gave the game a score of 80% http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=257937
They say it's too linear, but one thing to note is that it's supposed to be a linear game focused on story. It just happens to take place in an open world, you shouldn't expect the kind of crazyness you find in GTA IV or Just Cause 2.
