Finally, after getting good but very busy job as an auditor in a well known A.F Ferguson and Co. Chartered accountant firm. I now quit gaming. As, I won't have time to game and I want to concentrate completely on my career. Wish all of you best of luck in you careers and students in choosing right career for them. Thank you all of you for all the help, whenever I faced problem.
I am almost in the same situation, my job got very complicated and I have time for nothing ! Quit gaming also ! A part of it ...
I gotta say I dont get it. I have been working non stop since I finished the army, had 2 degrees, married, had a child , bought a house.... Yes, my gaming has been downsized significantly ( no more binge gaming ) but I hardly quit. I have time for my family, for the gym, for hiking, and yes, even gaming once in a while. This whole "I quit gaming to concentrate on my life" always seemed, well, a little over the top to me. Its your hobby. Why quit?
You are god damn right. If your job takes whole your life. Why work ? Whats the point ? So when you are like 50+ or 60+ you "maybe" will have "some" money and then free time ? I rather earn less and have a life.
What, no more spending money on games and the newest hardware?? Then what are you earning money for :3eyes:
You bet. Work to live moderetly without stress, not live to work with a big account and too much stress and no free time.
Not to be a dick or anything, but did you check his specs? I don't think gaming was number one on his spending list.
I agree. Gaming was not my number one priority. I some time have to work even on sunday. So, free time I get is like a blessing for me, which I spend with my family and my friends. Also, I have to travel a lot. Even to different countries for audit purpose and for training of different courses.
To each his own dude, to each his own. My brother in law , who was a hard core gamer took a harsh turn in life, and crapped out and now is CEO of a pretty sizable company. Makes more than me, substantially (I dont earn peanuts myself), BUT... Well, his career is way more advanced than mine. And so is his ulcer. Its all a matter of choosing what you want to do. If you chose to quit gaming for a career, that must mean you want a career , or at least a better career than you would have if you were still gaming. So your choice is right for you. For me? I need my fragging sessions once in a while. You know, to keep the ulcer down.
OK, you quite gaming for now. But inevitably you will find yourself one day with free time on your hands despite your job . And you will take a peek here and some new game may intrigue you. And you will be back to gaming. Never say never to anything.
I just spent $600aus on my gtx480...and games still don't feel smooth, I can definitely see why people quit gaming...it's an expensive hobby...and a time consuming one, I don't think i'll be building any more gaming PC's in the near future.
Video games are amazing. If you ain't playing games cause you got a job, then by all means make that paper booboo, but if you ain't got no job, and you aint playing games, then i don't know what the **** you are doing with your life. kat williams remix.^
