Keep in mind Dirt 2 is a Microsoft Games for Windows game, but I instantly got into a game multiple times & it's 11:30 PM on a weekday. I'd highly recommend the game, for that price it may very well be the best deal Steam is offering.
I really don't care that it's a Games for Windows game lol. Actually, I like that it's a GFW game. It tells me that the game is def. compatible with my XBOX 360 controller. I'm already an XBOX 360 gamer with XBOX Live Gold so I can now even manage my XBL stuff and talk to my friends while gaming. Gotta love cross platform chats. Alright, I'm pressing the checkout button. Thanks for your input. deltatux
Well I mentioned it because some people really hate GFW, I on the other hand love it. You made the right decision buying it, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Plus with your specs you shouldn't have any issues running it well. I run it @ 1920x1080 maxed, 8QAA & still get awesome fps. Happy gaming!
Nice but your GPU and CPU are better than mine so I'll probably run it at 1650x1080 w/ 2x MSAA. Steam is what makes me have faith in PC gaming. Them and their awesome sales. Glad I didn't poor more money on my X360, and glad I upgraded my GPU. deltatux
I think Dirt 2 should run kinda well on your pc. I run it @1440x900, with all settings in high, AAx2, FPS around 40~55.
I ended up spending $28 & bought 8 games. I bought Mirror's Edge, Killing Floor, the Overlord Pack, Trine & the Deus Ex pack. I've tried them all out & the one that most sticks out is Trine. The game is fantastic so far. I had an idea it would be good, but it's above & beyond what I expected. If you haven't played it, buy it right NOW!
End up buying Killing Floor with all DLC. Want Bioshock 2 and Call of Juarez but I don't know if I will buy them.
I highly recommend Dirt 1 as well, if you don't already have it. Doesn't look as nice as 2 naturally, but the courses are more varied and interesting. It is particularly good if you like the rally aspect. Plus the Pikes Peak hillclimb races are so much fun.
damn it, I could have bought the pack ... oh well, I think I'm quite content with what I got, I'm kinda cash strapped esp. since I'm saving up so I can do a shopping spree in HKG . deltatux
Also I run easily at 1920X1080 with 4XMSAA on Ultra settings, and I avg close to 60fps. It plays fantastically, so you'll have no issues.
aw crap, im away from any computer from 29 june untill 2 july. has anybody tried purchasing from steam on an android phone? i might check in on some of the daily offers by phone then.
If anyone prefers the physical retail dvd version of games then try www.Play.com as they have a sale on too. Free delivery included. I'll take DIRT2 for £7.50 on Steam though. HAWX - £6.99 Burnout P - £6.99 Battlefield BC2 - £14.99 Splinter Cell Conviction - £17.99 Prince of Persia Sands of Time - £17.99
Since valve gave in to the other publishers to hide "adds 3rd party drm garbage to your system" in the small-print-details, I've stopped buying from them. I'll consider buying stuff from them, when they reintroduce the warning. I simply do not want starforce or securom, or similar malicious software, on my machines, period. //Svein
