I really need to fix my system specs so you can see both my rigs. I was talking about my secondary rig, my intel pentium d 805(soon to be replace with a better mb & cpu ) with my 4670 1gb. Using the 10.5, no issues, but the 10.6 gives me issues.

As for 9800gt, its actually faster over my 4670 depending on the game. I really have no frame rate issues in games, only if i use certain drivers anyways.

Oh ok, guess that makes sence if it's a different DX.

    Thanks

I usually install over top but decided to go the Express Uninstall route ass-u-me-ing it would fix my live preview not working in the 3D tab. Everything went ok. I did some quick benchmarking:

    Order is 10.4 , 10.5a , 10.6

    3DMark01 38966 , 39657 , 36980
    3DMark03 83362 , 83438 , 67567
    3DMark05 20254 , 20218 , 19426
    3DMark06 16847 , 16722 , 15922
    3DMarkV P13434 , P13462 , P14140
    Crysis 12.53-36.45-30.84 , 2.79-38.97-11.33 , 17.72-40.73-31.27
    Heaven21 n/a , 47.9-1206 , 48.3-1217
    RE5 fix n/a , n/a , 62.9
    RE5 var n/a , n/a , 87.7

I then had my first lock-up running Serious Sam HD. Computer locks for 15-20 secs, then comes back for 10-15 secs and repeats. Don't know if it's one time deal, will have to reload the game and try others.

Don't know what to make of these drivers. Will have to do some more testing.

    @CJLMTLCA

That's very nice map there. pretty damn accurate too. Heh, also proves pretty damn well my own theory of what was done on these drivers.

    Thanks for sharing it.

I'm still getting performance issues in BC2 with catalyst 10.6 + June 18 App Profiles.

Much better than vanilla 10.6, but still significantly slower than 10.5a, so I'm reverting to 10.5a. I also noticed some random flickering in BC2 with 10.6, but 10.5a does not have this issue.

I'm also getting a new level of 'micro-stuttering' in CoD4, CoD5, CoD MW2, and BC2 (all of them) in 10.6 that was not seen in 10.5a or previous versions of Catalyst. Yes, TERRIBLE MICROSTUTTERING (i.e.: I see framerates ~ 90 fps, but it feels like 30 fps, NEVER had this with older drivers, and I saw this each time I re-installed 10.6 when I got my hopes up, but it always went away when I reverted to 10.5a).

Conclusion/tl;dr version: All in all, I don't recommend 10.6 to CrossFire users at this stage.

Single card rig works perfectly fine though (tested on the HD 5670).

How are 5970 or crossfire owners liking these over 10.5 or 10.4? I have issues with the driver reseting when I launch widows on those two opposed to 10.6 but the performance in .6 is bad.

I use the Asus 5870 Matrix Platinum Edition in Tri-CrossfireX

10.6 works fine for me w/ WoW, Dirt 2, Metro 2033, & Starcraft II.

10.6 is working great w/ 3DMark Vantage. I cant clock as high but the GPU Score is 3.8k more than 10.5

They are fine as long as you dont use the 10.6 version from ATI, use TwLs 10.6 version instead.

    (If)It is not a Bug......
Then it should be design Problem.

    For my 4850, in 10.5 10.6
    Not OC.
    Idle : 150/250
mid load : 500/700 (video dxva)
    Full Load : 650/1000

    OC.
Idle : 650/1000 *back to default clock!?
    mid load : 500/700 <-------- *lower than idle ?
Full Load : 700/1200 * of coz OCed clock rate

    What the funny design !?
    :eek3:

i played Crysis with 10.6 and app profiles... and i cannot believe this, in the old day, Crysis was raping a computer but in my case, Crysis got raped by my computer..
All on very high, latest patch, runs like hot knife trough butter.

GTA 4 however stutters like ****! :bang:

Seen a similar issue with a friends 5770.

It usually idles at 157/300MHz but he's overclocked it 5MHz just to bump the idle clocks, in the hope of avoiding some issues he's been having.

With that overclock the card idles at 400/1200MHz and downclocks to 400/900 when playing video. *sigh*

It's not normal to have higher frequency in idle than in mid load.
And someone still think that is not a bug...
This is my first ATI card, and i begin to remorse for that.

I've modified this with Radeon Bios Editor, and now, with Overdrive enabled, I can get 157/300 or 300/600MHz (lower than UVD frequency).
Use at your own risk, of course.
