Well these drivers really pissed me off!! First I got bluescreen because they needed clean install. Then I saw that the option to enable Crossfire in CCC was missing!! I did everything.. So, Crossfire can't be enabled I guess. Same goes probably for 5970 so you get about half the fps in BC2:eek:

I stick with Catalyst 10.4 for now (don't like high 2D clocks on 10.5). The drivers are getting worse and worse:biggun:

I fixed this and found something epic !!

Firstly, this modded driver by TwL sorted me out finally.
I'm not sure if its his driver removal tool or the driver build that helped

Second, the driver is exposing 2GB of video memory!! (I have 2 x 1GB cards)
I first noticed in GTA IV so maxed the settings to 1.57GB vid mem and it runs just fine playing the game.
I checked with Liberty City and again 2GB ram, maxed it out to 1.21GB and it ran fine.

3DMark Vantage also reports 2GB video memory available.
    From System Info:

Description ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series
    Manufacturer ATI Technologies Inc.
Total Local Video Memory 1.98 GB
Total Local Texture Memory 1.98 GB
    AGP Aperture Size 1.25 GB
    Driver File aticfx32.dll
    Driver Version 8.741.0.0
    Driver Details
    Driver Date 5-27-2010
    Driver WHQL Certified true

    Fantastic!!

Exactly, if there is only one monitor in use the driver should put the 2d clock to 157/300 otherwise if there is more then set it to 400/900. I can't see why it cannot be done this way

Because your overclocking maybe? The higher clocks are a fix for overclocking and low power crashing as well as 2nd monitor issues.

If you overclock with MSI, well, it's not made by ATI lol ... you can't ask them to fix the way how the MSI software work or interact with the driver ..... maybe in the 1.6.8 version who know, even if m sure there's something to do for fix it..

Anyway try see if you disable UPLS first if it work.

( same for the peoples who want the 157/300, disable just the UPLS; RegEdit > find the good entry ( there's a lot of thread here about it do a search ) and disable directly the UPLS. note you need do this each time you install a new driver ).

With 10.6, it will run at 157/300 but it switches to 400/900 when running flash in firefox. Also when I overclock it will go to 400/900 always but when I clock it back to defaults the 2d clock is stuck at 400/900 and does not slow back down to 157/300. I need the 2d clocks to always be at 157/300, overclocked or not and flash on or not.

I've have reverted back to 10.4 and all is well. I have zero problems with this driver and I do not want my card idling at higher temperatures resulting in higher fan speed. The 2d clocks also do not increase during flash.

Was that 2D dual screen problem while OC'ing only? Otherwise, I don't see how that is not a bug.

well I just like 72 minutes in BC2 sp and these are in my good graces when it comes to performance increase but i'll give it more testing before I give a final answer but so far I am pleased with them.
