Fonts gets fuzzy after playing games

Hello. I have a Geinwald Nvidia 465 and after playing games my screen fonts gets fuzzy/blurry
After a while it settles down though...
Im using my monitor at my native res (1680x1050)
I have also tried the drivers 256.15 and 256.29
+Adjusting cleartype settings
It doesnt really help pressing the auto-adjust button
on the monitor... just because that is settles after a while.

Is it overheating or something.. ?


My config:
MB: P35 Neo2-FR / FIR
CPU: Q6600 @ 3000 Mhz
2 X ADATA 6400 2 GB.
Using onboard sound
Monitor: Philips 220VW Connected whith DVI-VGA Adapter

Running Windows 7 64-bit.

I don't know, that's kinda weird.

Few things I would try would be to try the monitor on another computer/video card. Then I would try using a different cable.

is it JUST the fonts that are fuzzy, or is everything?

 

I didnt have this problem with my previous card.
(Sapphire radeon 5750). I used it with the same monitor.
I even tried it with differnt dvi-vga adapters and i get the
same result.

Yes it would seem that its the fonts. Its kind of hard to tell though.
Right now when im typing i cant se any fuzzyness but directly
after playing a game it happends.

Does it have anything to do with my PSU?
I have a Enermax 720. I ....think its enough for this card.
I connected the default Gpu-power cable and connected another
one (modular) from the PSU just because it needs two of them.
Its designed for SLI so i guess its enough..

I had some funny things happening with my second 480, I resat the card and boom no more glitch. Mine was happening during 3D stress, other than that everything was fine...

Your PSU should be enough for your rig if your not running; cold cath, water cooling, 10HDD, overclocked like hell, etc...Look what i run on a 860W.

I'd give it a try if i were you...

 

Tried reseating the card (looked if i had seated it firmly), putting it in another DVI port, changed the VGA cable...

One question: On my PSU I have a primary SLI and a slave SLI Power port.
I Used one of them for one of the connectors on the GPU and the other one
was the original GPU Power cord that not was modular.

Did i do the right thing?

This is really weird. Its like the screen gets in and out of focus.
Im not really sure that it has to do with the games...

 

A long shot here. Have you tried re-installing your monitor drivers?

 

Primary SLI power port..What you mean by that? On your modular PSU you have two 6-pin connectors and one 8-pin connectors that should be way enough to feed your GTX465...

A 8-pin connector and a 6-pin connector.

Yup. Tried it first with the default ones from microsoft. And after that i tried the monitor drivers from Philips homepage.

Didnt change anything..

You might have two Pci-Ex slot on that board? Have you tried the other one, just in case..?

The only thing left would be the ATI driver messing around...I'm pretty sure you did a full clean up before installing your new 465..?

 

I don't have your same card (I have an 8800GT), and strangely enough the same thing happens to me very once in a while. it's not something totally annoying so I never paid any thought to it. Besides, just like you said, it goes back to normal after a while. weird.

Yes. I Uninstalled all ATI Drivers. And after that i used Driver Sweeper.
I have not tried reinstalling windows. But i dont think its that...

 

Stop using the ridiculously outdated VGA port my friend.

 

Well. It did work fine with my older GPU.

Perhaps your right.. but i have no choice.
There is only VGA on my monitor...
and I have no funds for a new monitor at the moment.

 

If i look really close.. I can se that the fonts are shaking..
There is some "noise" over them..

 

its about how win7 aero enchances fonts and they shadows, some drivers does better job with aero, but doubt u have much choises with gt400

or ur screen gets scaled during gaming and fuzzes

u can try to adjust how fonts are displayed in win7 (sry cant tell u exactly how as im back on xp) but theres a lenghty "self test" to adjust looks

 

Sounds like the Clock & Phase setting on your monitor isn't set properly. Load this test image on your screen at the native resolution.

You should see a uniform pattern, if you see noise on the screen. Press the Auto Configure button on your monitor. It should reset the Clock & Phase of your monitor. Having this test image on the screen while you do this, should help it lock in to the correct Clock & Phase.

 

Thanks for all the replys and help everyone... but
I ended up sending it back for a replacement.

As I said .. It didnt happend with my earlier card. And everytime i press the Auto configure button. I stays fine for about a minute and then it gets fuzzy all over again. In 2d it feels like it looses focus.
I have narrowed it down to not beeing my monitor.

This have never happend with my 5750 Card.
i always use the auto button with my 5750 card and it
works fine with this card but not with my new one.

I've even tried it with different drivers and it ends up in the same way.
and i have not clocked the card.

I was out of options so i sent it back for replacement.
IF they get the same error that is. :S

 

Yah sounds like it's a defective card possibly. VGA is in general can be subject to noise as its not a digital connection. I would highly suggest replacing your monitor for one with DVI when you get some money saved up.

 

that self test can and most likely will screw ur monitors clocks really badly

been there done that, got horrible lines and distortions after fooling with it, im glad it restored after time, and no auto adjust didnt restore previous settings
