well not the first Silencer ever that wasn't Seasonic...they were FSP before that and the very first one was just a modified IBM power supply and I think something else used in between those too but I forget what it was. But anyway the new ones are Sirfa/Sirtech/High Power or whatever they are calling themselves at the moment. It's probably something like a Sirtec OCZ Zseries but single rail and no modular cabling. A step down from the Seasonics IMO. EDIT: well the lower wattage ones may have more in common with the HighPower HPC-*-G14C silver and bronze rated things...minus the modular cabling.

thankya very much...I need all the help I can get keeping this thing up to date with Computex under way and a new wave of new ones coming. I spent some time trying to figure out the OEM on these but came up empty for now. The UL number is just Cooler Masters and the ECOs ID# and label specs don't match up with the Enhance gold rated line up...although label specs are easy enough to change. Anyway they could be Enhance or maybe something else so I'll just add them as unknown for now and we'll probably know what they are soon enough when the reviews come in. Speaking of Computex and PSU's check out this new Corsair 1200W... http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1320/4/ it's wild and pushing the envelope and not like anything I've ever seen before. The 750 and 850's are Seasonic but this 1200 is some custom made thing that's been under development for years....apparently made by Flextronics. Most of the caps are solid and the few electrolytics I see are top of the line Nichicon or Rubycon. You can see the thickness of the PCB's used on the various daughterboards...those are heavy duty 4 layer PCB's.

yeah I noticed that both brands have gold units in the same wattage range but if you examine the rail ratings there's some differences. Also if they were identical then the norm would be for the ECOS ID# to be the same significant digits and the Cooler Master would have an extra number to the right of the decimal place. Now I only took the time to look at the label specs on the units at the two extreme ends of the range...600W and 1200W...those numbers are reflected in the amperage amounts that 80+ uses for their loads btw and also different there. What I see is some differences in the individual rail amounts and single 12V vs. multi-rails and the most questionable of all is the difference in the 5Vsb rating which is the least likely to change between different versions of the same platform. They may very well be Enhance as I said...but if they are they are "different" and not just rebadged so I'm going to wait and see. Enhance units are very easy to identify for me if I can see a photo of the interior. There may be two different OEMs across the CM Silent Pro Gold range too which is not uncommon for CM.

yes that's a good indication that they might be Enhance but it's not good enough for me. If I followed that logic then the Enhance, Seventeam and Acbel units that don't even have the model number designation that you're looking at would be Hipro...but they aren't. If I could cross reference the model numbers in the UL database between Enhance and CM that'd be different but I've tried and they aren't there. I'd rather be slow than wrong...that's just me. Cooler Master will have pages for these at their website and send out review samples soon enough and both sources will have a photo of the interiors. The main thing is we have the combined 12V rating which is and was always the primary function of the list and I only added OEM's later as a bonus. Let me tell ya there's been some hard to identify units that made me regret that too but Enhance isn't hard to identify once I see the interior.
No I didn't mean that. CM's without a model number aren't Hipro, but Hipro's character is unknown and some CM PSU's don't have a character. And i'm sorry for my English, but it's better than your West Frisian I think.
eh well I have no doubt that you do better with English then I do with West Frisian but I don't think that there was a communication problem happening. Simply the fact that not every model number has the two alphanumerical designation at the end of it but all of the Hipro's are missing that and it's not accurate to assume that all of those without are Hipro. And the fact that I've seen enough arbitrary model numbers assigned to PSU's to not hesitate to wait until I have better evidence. If you put yourself in my shoes and take on the responsibility for being right or wrong based on assumptions then maybe you would understand my position better. You said it yourself in your first post on these units: but notice that I don't do that in the list...there are no OEM's stated as "must be" or "probably are" or the like...that's not my style
Me neither, but then the most PSU's have unknown OEM's, because you never can be sure all the time. One other forums the say it's Enhance to.
yeah...for what it's worth I've seen a photo of the exhaust grill end of the 800W one with enough of the internals visible to say that one is Enhance for sure.
yeah thanks...lots of new stuff on display at Computex. I know some of these are Delta...dunno any specs for them...they are expected to hit retail in July IIRC.
1200 Watt version seems to be from another OEM. Also on Computex: New PSU's from A-Data and Thortech (GeIL)
