    ATI Catalyst™ 10.5a Hotfix features:
The ATI Catalyst 10.5a Hotfix provides resolution for the following issue:

    * Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - Long load times for new maps when using a Windows® 7 / Windows Vista® based system with an:
o ATI Radeon HD 4xxx series graphics card
o ATI Radeon HD 3xxx series graphics card
o ATI Radeon HD 2xxx series graphics card

    http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/ATI-Catalyst-Hotfix.aspx

P.S. I still can get 1920x1080@59 on my Samy (HDMI) unless I "Add 1080p60 to the Display Manager", and if I do that I can't get 1920x1080@60

so they are going to ignore us with a 5xxx cards now??? wtf.com????

dloading now...will check out if the load times are back to normal on my SSD :D

    *fingers crossed*

ok..played a bit with them...*yeah that sounds bad* but I think these are the best BF:BC2 drivers YET to date. the stuttering when looking over the players shoulder is almost gone...the loadtimes I think are even FASTER than I ever recall..so..thats just my opinion..anyone else?

5xxx users doesn't suffer the long loading times problem.
Only users from 2xxx to 4xxx

Nice find OP, thx! Will test. Just because the notes say only BFBC2 fixes does not mean there are not other things changed in there, they often just highlight the most important ones for them?

I know you guys DID have that problem.
    But not with 10.5
That's why this driver (10.5a) does not fix it for the 5xxx, because the bug is not there.

Yeah, the 5xxx series doesn't need the hotfix.

Just installed it. Didn't check BC2 yet.
But, CCC, Avivo and the driver (of course, duh!) are newer.

Hotfix are much newer than WHQL.

    27.05.2010 vs 04.05.2010

    Will give them a try.

Hey, they finally added the ATI Video Converter with the hotfix.

I remember seeing it in some images of the 10.5 beta, but didn't find it in the eventual release.

Only difference is the BFC2 Hotfix loading times for HD2000-HD4000 and nothing more.

BC2 still stutters for me, but could be the server.

That was always there (since 10.4). You have to download AVIVO manually. The hotfix comes with AVIVO.

*Avivo Video Converter will only work
with HD 2000, HD 3000, and HD4000 series products

How can us 5xxx owners use graphics hardware based video converting ?

well for me the 5xxx series AVIVO was included in the hotfix. You get the option to install it if you choose to do a custom install.
