I installed this driver and all went well. Nhnacer even works with it and shows that it's installed.

How did you get nHancer to work with these drivers?

It's technically impossible unless he's either mistaken, didn't update the drivers properly, or reworked/modified nHancer itself.

You can upgrade the graphics drivers in vista x64 without rebooting as well, not sure about the 32bit version though.

I forgot which one i installed driver cleaner or driver sweeper but one of them crashed my system yesterday, unrecoverable and now i had to buy windows 7 and wait for that to come and do a clean install thanks to those POS programs lol. All i did was select anything that had to do with nvidia on the three check boxes in the program, hit clean or whatever it is and restart. Now my system is stuck in a boot loop and wont stop. And as usual i forgot to enable system restore before i mess with the drivers like i usually do and now im screeeeeeeeewwed lol. I wouldnt suggest those programs to anyone and should have just done a manual search for the damn drivers myself after uninstalling and rebooting to see if there was any remnants left of them.

I can assure you with 100% certainty that it was not one of those two programs of which you can't recall which you installed that crashed your system. The most likely scenario is your system was about to crap out regardless. Please don't make baseless accusations on a foundation of ignorance.

After 2 days testing Trackmania: Clocks have never got stuck in 3D Low Performance :) I see clocks change between Low and High Performance during map changes, but they always shift to High when I start playing. Most recent drivers could get stuck in 3D Low..gave me 40fps while gaming !!! Fix was easy tho, ctrl + alt back to game.

Rubbish... I'm tired of all this talk, and use of driver sweeper...Just make sure to disable anti virus, have UAC on lowest and install over old driver.

Only once since 2006 (was it dec 2006 Vista and Rainbow Six: Vegas came out?) I've been helped using driver sweeper. Why don't ppl think nvidia app can't remove old drivers? LOL.... and use a very old 3rd party one that deletes "nv*.dll" etc....:bang:

And I can assure you with 100% certainty that it was one of those two programs which caused boot failure.

    few lame tips :p

i don't need to disable nod32, it doesn't interfere with anything unlike kaspersky and uac is always off, i don't need it either its useless pos and can cause more problems due to restricted permissions.

Does your desktop look blurry after installing these?

I see that alot, so many drivers don't seem to be fare to well on the GTX295, over the last few months, most of the complaints about drivers have come from GTX295 owners.
It does make me slightly wary of any future dual GPU Nvidia cards, though with so many people playing older games with newer drivers its hard to get an accurate picture.

These are great drivers for Split Second and GTA EFLC, and image quality seems to be better on BluRay now, could be placebo effect though, i was looking for improvements.

They run smooth as silk on my 8800, but I can't disable AF Trilinear Optimization.....

And my desktop is blurry. The 197.45 worked the best for me.

That was most certainly the cause the user should have educated himself prior to using whichever program he doesn't even remember which he installed.

In which case it was the user's fault, i.e. ignorance, for blindly checking everything without properly educating himself as to the application he was using and exactly what he was doing. It was not the applications fault that he checked critical components required for his system to boot.

Please don't make ignorant statements ;)

Moral of the story: you live and learn....

This is how I learned most everything I know about computers, trial and error; though never once do I recall passing the blame onto a third party when I screwed my system up mucking around.
