ATi Catalyst 10.5 Released - Official Thread

How is he hating on ATI? You don't know what he's going on about in the first place. He's talking about a rumour that ATI were making driver level changes to how Tessellation was implimented, but it was debunked. He wasn't talking about any other sort of 1FPS increase.

the driver sucks since 10.4 whql..and now 10.5 also?come on ATI...

 

Not ever driver can be performance oriented, at some point you need to do other things with the updates, like fix bugs maybe?

whats the meaning fixing bugs while sacrificing others...it should fix bugs,fix and replace it with others..yet im still use the mysterius 10.x beta driver...

And the thing about 1fps increase is because thats what everyone bitches about. Everyone wants their "performance increases" which turn out to be a frame or two.

and that Tessellation stuff was proven false rumour.

 

Well, after reading through pages...i'll pass this and wait for 10.6 WHQl....as the 10.x(8.74) done a great job for me . no issues whatsoever.

 

No video colors settings reset?
Dynamic contrast without stripes?
No overclock of 2D mode with overdrive enabled?
I've tried it, and have this three problems.
Without overdrive enabled, this seem the best drivers for me.

 

holy...i love these drivers...catalyst 10.5 and 10.5 crossfireX is a win for me...i won 3-5 fps in minimum on metro 2033...on max settings...that means there's a better optimization in profiles or driver set...

also i can surely say, that maximum fps in every game and benchmark are greatly increased from about 2-10 fps...(no luck with unigine heaven minimum fps in tesselation the same bull****...dahm ati, why only 1 tesselation processor)

in stability issues...nope...i have 0 problems with these...i am happy now...they are the best from all packages 'till today, so, that means even better from the epiC 8.74 leaked drivers...!!!:banana::3eyes:

i can't wait for 10.6, i like improved performance...and for those blaming ATI abou drivers...relax...the top is in ati's side, they are already stable, and well performing...ATI is a king, they dont need 2-4 drivers changes per month like NVIDIA...nvidia is not the king anymore...and dont start the same bull**** abou gtx4xx they are temporarily top, until next ati's gpus...did you forget the "crying" nvidia gtx2xx users...with their hot and slow cards when hd5xxx showed up..??

 

so no more perf increase for 5xxx series?what a shame..

 

The people seem always unsatisfiable ... you want any month an % performance increases? It's impossible! X'D
Really, neither nVidia can do this! Or you'll never buy an new cards :bonk:

 

I love (actually it's a big pet peeve of mine) how one driver pops up that doesn't improve performance for EVERYONE on the latest series and someone ALWAYS complains with ridiculous claims such as this, get some patience, no really, stop acting like a child over something so trivial. Just because one driver didn't improve your performance doesn't mean it's the end of the world.

 

No fix for the black squares, grey start screen, or faster map loading in Bad Company 2 in crossfire for me even though it says so in the release notes..nice...starting to lose my faith in Ati drivers...again :3eyes:

Great driver so far...increase 200 points in heaven bench...

 

nope...nothing at all. and i never enabled overdrive before.

 

Yeah I did man, still no cigar...10.4's seemed to help the black squares which now take a good 10- 15 sec to disappear..the biggest pain is the map loading, hate being last in a match..I have tried just advanced and standard for Catalyst A.I. ...i will give it a little more time (for me to tweak), but for the last three driver revisions they have said they had fixed the map loading times...maybe just not for me
