Today morning at 6 am a flight from dubai with 168 people on board crashed while landing at the local airport 158 people including 23 infants and children burnt to death 8 lucky people survived-they were throw out or jumped out http://in.news.yahoo.com/43/20100522/812/tnl-158-killed-as-air-india-plane-plunge_1.html local hospitals filled with dead bodies my heart goes out to the families of the dead
If I crash in a car there's a good chance I'll be ok, if I crash in a plane, well, I'm basically toast.
Exactly.. I ride a motorbike and ive crashed 7 times in 7 years! and im still here.. Something tells me if i was in a plane id also be dead after maybe the 1st or 2nd crash lol:3eyes:
Indeed. Just because flying is statistically less likely to result in death than, say, travel by car does not mean that it is actually any safer, since your chances of survival given that an accident does occur are close to nil.
Well done at missing the point entirely, you win one internet! Statistical interpretation fail. You win one internet too! Leading Causes of Death in the United States (2002) http://www.the-eggman.com/writings/death_stats.html Anyone see plane crashes on these lists?
I look at it like this. In a car, I'm driving, so, my decisions, reflexes, attention, etc. matter to some extent in determining whether I get in a fatal accident. In a plane, I have no control over the situation and I don't like that. Anyway, that is a tragic event that happened. I always say that take off and landing seem to be the worst scenarios for tragic accidents like that. It's a damn shame.
Another missed point. Statistically speaking it is far, far safer to fly than it will ever be to remain: 1. In the house 2. At work 3. In a car etc, etc, etc....................................
Keep your Internet, you smug ****. You can reference Google as much as you want, my point is still valid.
Yeah, I'm the troll. You're the one acting like a total belled picking holes in everything people say. You must have so many friends if you do that IRL too.
It has nothing to do with being afraid, I just don't see the point in putting myself in unnecessary danger, you don't need to fly, it's a luxury.
I am feeling sad too not because it happened in my city,it was my neighbor who was 17 yrs old who was returning home just to attend church festival the following day,we miss him.By the way he was on the first seat in front row. PSont tell me that i am from delhi,i just moved from mangalore last year.
i fly on plane every year back & forth between russia and malaysia for the past 6 years. this is the only thing i fear. im going to final year soon hopefully i will have save journey next month.
