hi so should i use these drivers or continuing using my 8.74 which is the 10.4b preview i think.

Cos i wrote in another thread how my games were like losing some performance when benching with the 8.74 and it only seems to be good in cutting down loading time for bad company 2 online which i don't play.

Therefore should i use the 10.4 official instead?

Huge improvements over 10.4a in Wolfenstein 3D!!!

Take this with a grain of salt though as the sarcasm has been laid on thick!:knock:

  7. lol, wolfenstein........the game of all games..........*sarcasm*

Hopefully other games will get better results, although I feel much more optimization is needed on ATI's part, for the 5xxx series

..no, 10.4 preview is newer. I don't get what you mean by vanilla.
The only difference between 10.4a and b is that b brought the BC2 load time fix to the 4xxx, 3xxx and 2xxx series. A fix by the way that's not included in the WHQL 10.4 drivers.

I suggest you should use official 10.4a preview - so far it's the most stable and fast one for me.

This driver only resolves the slow loading times in Bad Company 2 for the HD 5000 series.

Known Issues Under All Windows Operating Systems
The following section provides a summary of open issues that may be experienced under
the Windows operating system in the latest version of Catalyst™. These include:
Loading time between maps in "Battlefield 2: Bad Company" may be long for ATI
    Radeon™ HD 2000, 3000 and 4000 Series
"Catalyst Control Center is not supported..." warning message may appear and
Graphics menu for Catalyst Control Center Advanced view may be missing after
relogging into system after a Remote Desktop connection
Utilizing hardware shaders (perfect mode) may cause text to become corrupted and
unreadable while loading any mission in "IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946" game

The 10.4 Previews are not only newer than the 10.4 WHQL but include the load time fix for all of the above in BC2. Read much?

Suppose this will just have to be said another 100 thousand times before it's sunk in. :bang:

Finding these drivers perform just as well as the leaked or whatever 8.74's no difference in any of my benches all exactly the same results do seem to have better IQ than the 8.74's but it could just be me but sticking with these until 10.5 preview a/b.
