    I'm the same.

    I've just upgraded to an HD 5870 from a GTX 280 and already I'm missing being able to use RivaTuner and the GPU Monitor v2.2. gadget to monitor card temperatures on the desktop.

    billko posted the answer:
    Release date; when it's done. Means there is no release date for free product coz the paid one has highest priority.

    For anyone wanting to get RivaTuner 2.24c working with an ATI HD 5000 series card, just download GPU-Z and the Radeon BIOS editor from here:

    http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/

    Run GPU-Z and save your card's BIOS on the HDD somewhere. Now load up the Radeon BIOS Editor and select Load BIOS, choosing the BIOS you'd just saved with GPU-Z. If you have RivaTuner installed, even if it is not running, the editor will detect that you're using it with an HD 5000 card and ask you if you want to fix it so that RivaTuner recognises the card. If you answer yes then you'll find that RivaTuner now works with the HD 5000 series cards, although in my case it is reporting that I have 0 MB of video memory on my HD 5870.

    I've no idea what the editor changed to get RivaTuner to recognise my HD 5870 but it seemed like some simple configuration file or registry tweak to me. It would be nice if this tweak was available without the need to use the BIOS editor.

    Neah, I'm using Riva just not to modify my BIOS. :)
    I'm patiently waiting 2.25 and until then I'm pretty happy with ATT.

    You don't modify your BIOS though, you just load the BIOS into the editor that you saved from GPU-Z, answer yes to the prompt to fix RivaTuner for HD 5000 series cards then quit it without tampering with your BIOS at all. ;)

    there is alot easier way to get the 5870 and 5970 to work with riva( just the normal ati stuff with r/t no 3d tweeks)
    but i think if he wanted to just have that he would have did it already..perfectionists :nerd:
    just add a few thing in the cfg.(tested on my 5870 and 5980) file i even got it to work on my 480 with the works for an nv card np(no o/c thuo..)

    @cowie - I'm sure there is but I came across this purely by accident and thought I'd post it on here as I was under the impression that only the forthcoming RivaTuner v2.25 would work with the HD 5000 series cards.

    i tried this but nothing came up for my 5770

    can you please elaborate?
    e.g. what dev number to use to put between these two?
    DEV_9441 = "ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2"

    DEV_7288 = "ATI Radeon X1950 GT"
