Demonoid FTW!!!Long live Demonoid!!I wont need another torrent site as long as demonoid lives.I dont care less if isohunt is hunted down.
Demonoid is great and all, I love it, but it's rarely my first port of call... As good as it is, it just doesn't have the broadness and user base that other sites that don't require you to be a member by invite only have. Best site I ever used and still use daily is torrentz
No, this is not ****ing happening. BULL****, I don't believe it. Isohunt is a beacon in the ****heads of public trackers.
As everyone said just use google + "torrent" and you will find your results for the said file fast. Not to mention from the search you do you will also discover about 5 + more torrent sites.
You mean something like: All pirates use torrents but not all torrent users are pirates. You're welcome.
World of Warcraft uses the Torrent protocol to deliver patches & updates. So yeah, if you've ever played World of Warcraft, even the free trial, even for 5 minutes, you've torrented
" 1. jaybob 2. axxo 3. lost 4. Clash of the Titans 5. how to train your dragon 6. hot tub time machine 7. FXG 8. alice in wonderland 9. avatar 10. The Bounty Hunter 11. the pacific 12. So which of those are not copyrighted? I got no problem with saying that .torrent has more uses than piracy, but it's ridiculous to suppose that the primary function of these sites is not piracy. FFS you can watch V & Lost free on hulu yet pirates continue.
sorry, that's what i meant, a torrent search engine, we call them trackers around here (not to be confused with a real torrent tracker that provides seeds/peers).
The primary function of a site like Isohunt is just to index all torrents on the most popular sites, and make them easy to find. It may be making piracy easier for people, but it's not actually condoning it. That's the problem with this ruling, the copyright holders are just taking the easy way out and taking out the search engine. As others have said, google is at least half as effective, so it's quite dumb.
All I'm saying is the only time i've EVER heard of people using this was for copyrighted material. It's like having limewire for legal reasons; rare.
Like a few others have said, It's my favorite.Rarely do I need to go elsewhere. Hopefully it'll go the same way it did with TPB. Shut down? not so much :wanker:
Well, heres an example. I want to find wallpaper compilations of a certain game. Do I search for ages on google? Nope. Just go to isohunt and search it up, problem solved. People share everything, not just illegal crap.
Primary 1. First or highest in rank, quality, or importance; principal. Function 1. The action for which a person or thing is particularly fitted or employed. Soooo if 20/20 of the top searches are for copyrighted material what is the highest ranked action that ISOhunt is used for? As for a comparison to Google, I instinctively find that to be a disingenuous argument. Because I see it as deceitful, I don't consider it worth spending time to refute it.
I understand what you're saying, but think if Isohunt as a tool. If you have a hammer, and 9 out of 10 people that use it kill someone, is that a bad hammer? Obviously not, you just had bad people using it. Isohunt is the same thing, its just a tool. It indexes torrents. Sure, pirated content is in there. But it comes down to the people to search for it. Technically, you could argue that Fung purposely created the site for the purpose of helping people find illegal things faster, and with that data you're showing it is a logical assumption. However, neither of us know Fung's true intentions for starting the site back in 2002-03 (or however long ago), so you can't really assume that. You may be right, but I'm inclined to believe the opposite. I really doubt that Fung was so irritated that he couldn't find illegal content in 2003 that he went out of his way to start such a complex undertaking.
