GeForce GTX 480 noise levels debunked Ever since the release today of the GeForce GTX 400 series there has been much discussion regarding the noise levels the cards make under load. Especially the... More...
ok thats what i was saying before in the huge thread in the forum lol, not sure why Nvidia put the fan to spin at 70% while it could have cranked it to 80% and still be at 45dB. im not concerned about the temps but much more about the GTX480 price.. ill be waiting 2 months till the GTX495 hits the market so it drives the prices down but 50-100$
97°C, 60dba at full load??? Certainly I will not put one of THOSE in my PC. Go Nvidia go!...more brute force and no brains.....go! I think I´ll wait to the next generation or the next revision at least.
Every website is reporting something different, id stick to Guru3D for the moment, and wait for a second revision of the card..
Why do people care? Most people won't be able to hear 'em 'cuz their speakers overpower 'em anyways... I know I can't hear a damn thing 'cuz my speakers are on with music all the time anyways. Plus, I won't be able to hear 'em when I have my headset on. Then again it could just be me. deltatux
+1, even if i put my fan at 100% i still won't be able to hear anything unless i pause the game(considering it doesnt have menu music).
I agree mate, noise and heat have never been the deciding factor when i buy a new GFX, sure its good to have nice and cool gpu's but with power comes heat.
It's definitely not just you, but some of us live in situations where we can't really have loud sound systems. I guess you could have headphones, but I've always preferred the sound from speakers, plus the cord is annoying. I mean, for a lot of people, sound makes a really big difference. Further, the fan has to be that loud to keep the card as cool as it does, so you don't get a lot of play, you can't give up sound for heat. For me it's definitely a deal breaker. Seems like these things are un OCable unless your games are loud or you have headphones and I have neither.
My sound system isn't quite loud, actually it's barely even a quarter of the amount I can crank on my speakers. Compared to others, it's quite quiet and I can't even hear my GPU. I'd probably hear my CPU heatsink before I can hear my GPU going off... deltatux
Sound from video cards or other components are extremely important for me, and for that only reason ... me loves watercooling ...lol summer can a b**** too.
For me GPU Fan Noise was never a deciding factor.. i crank up my Surround System quite high.. i just care about the noise when my system is at idle (but thats quite easy to reduce)
Whats up with this sudden flow of newlyregistered ppl calling guru3d biased. Started when Charlie and the other guy started making their unfounded accusations... :3eyes:
