My 192SP GTX260 is sitting at 58c Core Temp, and goes well into the 90's with some games, most recently Metro2033, and it has done me well for 18months without a hitch, so 95c for a stress test isn't that bad.

I wouldn't pay much attention to that review, the fact every benchmark has a screengrab from the 5870, when its a GTX480 review makes me question them, they are also claiming it idles at 90-92c, while HH says its 39c, and i know who im going to believe.
My GTX 280 under maximum stress with the overclock listed reaches 70c in a shut environment, 55c at 98% GPU usage with the window open. :wanker: 15c difference based on whether or not outside air reaches this thing. So 95c sounds pretty abysmal. Like I said, there will be a LOT of RMAs, 95c does not equal a long life span.
Suppose we will just have to wait and see, Nvidia have said that the lifespan of these cards won't be affected by these temps, my old 8800GT idles at 75c in my girlfriends PC, and goes up to well into the 90's just running The Sims 3, and that has been doing that and running without an issue for well over 2years. But i guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.
tbh load 95 imo aint that bad i've used to my 4870 memory going to over 100 after i havent cleaned the cooler for a while... best i think i've had was 115 for mem core and 100 for main core. drivers shutdown and then i removed the card and opened it... cleaned dust and it went full load on furmark to 80 maybe... But still i wouldn't buy fermi the power usage is far too great and that would accumulate to too high electricity bills over if i bought 5870. else the card is ok and surely the people whom will buy it will be happy campers

We were seeing right around 51C at idle, which isn't as bad as we expected to be honest. thats from the site and so is this We fired up FurMark and ran the stability at 640x480, which was enough to put the GPU at 100% load in order to get the highest load temperature possible. This application also charted the temperature results so you can see how the temperature rises and levels off, which is very nice. The GeForce GTX 480 maxed out at 96C. edit: i actually didnt read that part wasnt too interested i just read the temp tests and game tests But well if his office gets to like 30+ celsius and the case is utter crap it might go to 90 idle... i know my friends 8800gtx was idleing at around 100 with crappy case ^^
uke2: The card can handle the heat simple as. Direction future cards are heading, their going to get alot hotter as they crank up that shader count/speed an transistor count, even if they get improvements from lower nm process.
