well looks like 480 is a decent card in terms of perf, shame about the heat nvidia. a bridge too far p.s if u watercool or maybe wait for aftermarket cooler then it seems like a good card. but expensive most likely. cheaper for me to go xfire even though it's not a cert in terms of perf/drivers. lovely review Hilbert, your best yet! thankyou.
Well considering the 5970 is basically two 5870's and the 480 is a single card I think it's pretty impressive what the 480 did.
Already on OCUK http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=56&subid=1750 £320 for the cheapest 470 pre-order
and in the end its not that much faster then 5870... so hows the prices on 5970 that wins like all benchies against 480?
Those are insane prices, think i'd have to go 5870 if i had the cash to spend. Cheapist 5970 at OCUK is £500 only £50 more.
GTX480 vs HD5870 = GTX280 vs HD4870? Or the difference between GTX480 and HD5870 is smaller than the difference between GTX280 and HD4870? :eyes:
aye but extra cost! sorry ati wins this round for me. if u have cash, or are a fanboy, want to watercool then the 480 is for you! 470 seems a tad better, heatwise.
