    Installed this on top of 10.3 final and I think the gain comes from slight lower image quality...

    These drivers only update the OpenGL Driver and a new CCC version. These DO NOT update D3d driver from 10.3a.

    This is just the 10.3a package with new OpenGL driver so no idea why anyone would see an increase in D3D games unless you coming from 10.3 WHQL which has been said many times is older than the 10.3 preview..

    So are these better than 10.3a any benchmarks to compare these drivers ??

  14. maybe try cinebench to bench these drivers in the Open GL test? maybe a before n after shot will show us what open gl 4.0 can do?

    the 10.3a's were giving me stability issues so i've installed 10.3 officials and so far rock solid.

    :bang:

    Don't look at the packaging, look at the driver version for both D3d and OpenGL. If you upgrade from 10.3a these will only update the new OpenGL. So any performance gain in D3D games is placebo.

    anyone of u tried older opengl games? im getting weird bugged textures in wolfenstein:enemy territory. had the 10.3(and a) before without any problem. did a clean install for these and its messed up :/
    btw anyone here using the 3d clocks on his card for all modes? e.g:
    <Property name="Want_0" value="87000" />
    <Property name="Want_1" value="87000" />
    <Property name="Want_2" value="87000" />
    </Feature>
    <Feature name="MemoryClockTarget_0">
    <Property name="Want_0" value="125000" />
    <Property name="Want_1" value="125000" />
    <Property name="Want_2" value="125000" />
    </Feature>
    <Feature name="CoreVoltageTarget_0">
    <Property name="Want_0" value="1163" />
    <Property name="Want_1" value="1163" />
    <Property name="Want_2" value="1163" />

    i wanna have the 3d clocks all the time(on my gaming profile) but it seems to be "unstable" as im getting flickering and sometimes crashes(although its not even oc'ed)

  18. I'm not so sure about them being worried about fermi because it all fits in perfectly really for ATI, they have always known fermi will be more powerful than the 5 series, but it turns out fermi isn't looking much more powerful really. the 480 from what ive seen may be 10% faster in some games, particularly in heavily tessellated environments.

    Personally, i wouldn't pay $499usd for a card that isnt much faster than a $399 5870.

    ATI wins in price/performance this time around again, and thats without any price cuts. If they were scared, they'd be cutting prices but as it stands they are leaving it be.

    Nvidias always been about having the biggest, baddest, most powerful cards out which consumers are forced to pay a premium for. Some of us will...but most will be happy saving 30% money and sit 10% lower than the top of the line nvidia card.

    Lets see how the fermis overclock, coz a 5870 can gain 10% since they overclock like a horny nun.

    Time will tell i guess.

    They aint worried about Fermi at all, as all they are going to do now is, overclock their 5870's instead of releasing the 5890, as Fermi's supposedly not much faster, only around 5-10%, so no need.
