either revert back to older drivers or connect your gpu fan to the motherboard controler to ignore the bug, like said I have my after market HSF connected directly to my Mother board and it idles 33~40c and loads 50~60c has been for year or two now

Ok I see the issue now. My card was heated after I booted from hibernate, then the next time it was idling at 58C. Also when I was playing BC2, the screen flickered black a few times but the temp was only in the low 70's. Reverted to 196.34 and now gonna play BC2.

My goodness. Can't any of these idiots at Nvidia get anything right? The option to rotate my monitor to portrait/landscape mode is gone for Windows 7 64bit. Wouldn't even let me rotate my monitor in Nvidia Control panel either. Anyone else is having this problem?

This driver was pulled do to a problem with the 2xx cards. So maybe the next version will also fix problem you noted.

2xx series? I thought we were the ones not having many probs but the 9xxx series were affected mostly. Just did a re-read through the thread.

This is not true. It is anyone coming out of sleep mode that disables the fan. I've never used sleep mode ever so I don't care.

Not everyone, as i have had no problems with the fan speed on this for movies, gaming or after coming out of sleep mode.

One of the best drivers i' ve ever used with my GTX285.
A liitle performance boost in all the games i play, with the relative increase in temps(nothing abnormal).
    Good IQ also.
Fan speed work as it should.
    System information the same.
Didn't try video playback, cause i only game with my pc.

Keepers for me, despite the annoyance to monitor and check the temperatures in the background, cause you never know.
Maybe i should relax after three days of troublefree use though.

Vista 64bit, GTX285 stock clocks, not using a third party tool like RT or MSIAB.

It seems to be a rare problem only effecting a small percentage. If you haven't had any problems right off bat your good to go and I would relax.

Still fine here at 46C. So seems as long as we don't put the pc to sleep we'll be ok then.

Well I've been using 196.75 since it came out and I haven't had any issues with heat or fan problems with my GTX 275. I don't use sleep or hibernate mode with Windows 7 64-bit. I also have RivaTuner set to run the fan at 100% all the time anyway to prevent any overheating with my card.

My temps are 45C idle and I've seen 75C at the high end when running one of my games.

I really like this driver. All of my games that I've played so far run much smoother than with previous drivers.

because this driver was the only driver that eliminated stuttering in crysis wars and increased fps in avp 3 dx 11. 196.86 and 196.21 fail to do that. EDIT: also, can anyone tell me if 71 Celsius is normal after 5 minutes of crysis wars? i dont think it is imo

Didn't affect me until the next day and still happened to me after a cold boot.
