I've just installed these and the first thing I tried was to open the NVIDIA Control Panel's System Information tab which caused the whole thing to crash as reported by someone else in the other thread in this forum.

It's not something most people would try so I'd be interested to see if anyone else has the same crash as I've always installed new drivers over old ones and 99.999% of the time don't have any problems doing so.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrgh... the 'NVIDIA scaling with fixed-aspect ratio' bug is back, i.e. upon selecting and applying it, it reverts back to the default 'Use my display's built-in-scaling'. This was fixed in the 196.34 betas!

Hmmm... I ran Registry Mechanic and System Information appears to work now although nothing is displayed under the 'Display' tab, only the 'Component' one. I'm guessing that these drivers maybe require a clean install but I'll wait to see what others say first as attempting to do a clean install on my system usually ends up with Windows 7 automatically installing older versions of the graphics drivers... even from safe mode!!!

This is surprising... Now GPU load, memory controller load and video engine load monitoring works with these drivers.

Everytime there are major changes in drivers, you need a clean install.

No problems so far for me, but will need to install some of the games they listed to check the performance.

They messed up on the release notes PDF. The one I downloaded for Win7 x64 was the Quadro release notes.

can the thread starter add a poll to the thread?? It would be easy to judge the quality of drivers from that.. thank you

Sorry to keep quoting myself, it seems easier than repeating everything I've already written.

Anyways... this is the report I get if I save at the System Information > Display tab:

NVIDIA System Information report created on: 03/02/2010 12:38:38
    System name: DARREN

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit
    DirectX version: 11.0

    [Components]

    nvCplUIR.dll 2.8.312.11 NVIDIA Control Panel

    nvGameSR.dll 6.14.11.9675 NVIDIA 3D Settings Server
    nvGameS.dll 6.14.11.9675 NVIDIA 3D Settings Server

Seems that everything is installed correctly (v196.75 files, etc.) and the Display tab does save some info even if it doesn't actually display it from the control panel itself. Odd.

tested with my GTX260, a nice gain of 3fps in Crysis, 2 in FC2, no change in HAWX however for me.

oh and at last the hitching in FO3 is gone, the only drivers that worked flawlessly were the amazing 186.18 whql, the same exact places that used to hitch now don't.

however i get some random flickering shadows in Resident Evil 5 with these, i completed the game and was about to uninstall it so i don't care.

testing some more and will report but so far performance is good.
