This opt-in beta is available immediately to all Steam users. If users already have Steam installed on their computer, they can take part in the beta by selecting "UI Update" under Beta Participation.
OMG. installing..... edit: thnx for posting i often try out betas on steam but mostly forget about it ;P
Using it now and it's simply AMAZING!! I f*cking love it. Best thing to happen to steam in ages! I love the thumbnail game view! Now I don't even need the Windows Game Explorer (which BTW Microsoft totally screwed up in Windows 7). Only problem is you can only sort games by specific order when in the "list" view.
I honestly don't care about appearance, having to run steam is annoying enough, if it uses more resources then it sucks...if not, then it's all good.
actually i take it back commenting its nice...it totally sucks at the moment...since i updated the new UI, its started redownloading modern warfare 2 all over again for the next three hours at 600k, which is truly pathetic..screwed up something during the update.. now my monthly bandwidth is going to be used excessively for something i already downloaded..if anything, steam should pay half of my internet bill for this ignorance :thumbdown
Very nice, a couple of font size issues, but definety an improvement, even if i was lost for the first few seconds. sounar, it is a beta, your suffering will help others now, and thats why its an optional thing.
I really like it, though I wish the whole interface felt "smoother" you know? The menus and stuff just feel kinda rough when you're scrolling. I like the games list less though.
they going fix the common crash issue inc in a hour or so. so if got crashes. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=13649639&postcount=117
looks good, i wish there was a achievement tracking thing for any game akin to what you see in tf2 though
yea very upsetting to say the least since i only get 60gigs/month when this game itself is well over 11gig.. :fang: guess i wont be purchasing anymore games from steam, back too good old physical copies...plus i always felt with steam its like when you purchase the game its never really yours...its almost like your borrowing it from them in a way...with too many rules in place to play for something you purchased with your own money..great now its trying to update warfare 2 mulitplayer and singleplayer... so its repeating the download twice for each title name, which makes it 22gig :cussing: well not going to waste 1/3 of my bandwith for a one game i already had this month ..Beware people, espically if you have a bandwidth limit.
I like it, the old UI looked 10 years old. I have the MW2 issues as well. Glitch? :biggun: Update: I had to opt out, MW2 multiplayer kept restarting download from the beginning, just an endless loop.
well now it updated crashing got fixed if got this issue now testshell error can be fixed now. from internet explorer options > connections > lan settings un check automaticly dectect settings.
