This is changing! Lot of R&D now goes into stiff chassis and low weight vs high output.

Yeah... mustang still has a solid rear axle though, haha. Oh well. Unless you buy an 03/04 cobra... maybe earlier years (99-03?) too but I'm not sure.

And I didn't buy it to take to drifting events or for racing against Subarus through the twisties. It's a street car and it serves its purpose alright.

Also, it's absolutely terrible for one thing:

^ That, as well as most people who are into cars want to build theirs to suite their tastes and applications. Weather it be a 4 banger or big block we all have different styles.

Also Panzer, really nice pony you got there. I'm a big mustang fan (Love the styling). Would love to have a foxbody GT one day.

American cars from the 30-70s are with a few exceptions straight line machines.
Those that are not are generally either fairly slow or extremely expensive.
Further, without extensive modification almost nothing from that era can compare to cars of today.
A 67 camaro SS stock will have its ass handed to it by a Ford Taurus in both the straight line and around corners.
Old cars that are "cool" generally get a lot of money. A fastback mustang or stingray vette gets insane money. Anything Shelby is $200k+. Hemis are six figure cars. and so on.

There are good modern American cars like the vette or the mustang and they do get modified.

    Here are mine:

1998 Jeep Cherokee. 4.0L H.O. straight 6, lifted 3", rancho shocks, 31" tires, off-road roof lights, Pioneer sound system. This is my daily driver. Its got about 180k miles on it now.

1975 Buick Century. Mildly built 350 (5.7L) V8, Turbo 400 trans w/ shift kit, headers, 3" dual exhaust with glasspacks, 295/50/15 tires on back. I'm building up a big block 455 to stick in it someday. Only 36k miles on it!

I always get lots of looks when i stomp on it a little and it squeals the tires when it shifts (thanks to the shift kit).
