so I got this board back from Gigabyte and start building, after finishing up, I switch on. Eveerythying comes to life and fans start spinning but after about 5 secs the CPU fan stops and I don't hear any POST beeps and I see nothing displayed on my screen (GTX275 no onboard), wat's the issue????? my specs are i7 920 EX58-UD4P 6GB ram (only one stick in right now tho)
^ yeh they said they fixed it and it has no other issues, was this the same thing that happened to you?
Is it just the CPU fan stopping or do other system fans stop? I had a similar problem years ago and it was a PSU starting to fail, not delivering enough power once the system started in whole. It would work a few seconds during post, but once the components were all engaged during post the thing would just die.
so when u had the issue did the rest of the fans and ur GPU etc come on and it was just ur CPU fan that stopped and no post?
im assuming that your power supply has extra cables for a second gpu... unplug the power cables from your 275, and switch to the other two, and then try powering on again.
jus tried posting with my backup HD3650 which requires no extra power and same issue so that's not the problem
RMA that **** back and tell them to try again, this time properly. And demand a refund if it doesn't work after the second time. That's what I'd do, at least.
its something with bios i had that once, when i removed the battery for few min and cleared comos with that small bridge it was ok again. But then later when i had a lightning strike i ended up with no post at all i then plugged the psu while it was on on the back and it made like short circuit inside psu+mobo and it was alive again lol. I had to update the bios then because it fried one of my onboard lan cards.. anyway try and disconnect psu power cord and connect it in again while its off but not totally off on the back. I know it sounds stupid but maybe it will nudge something inside the mobo or bios:nerd: hey its worth a shot and you won't kill anything that way , do that after you cleared comos by removing the battery and clear it by making a short circuit with that bridge..
nope lol I'll try anything tho keep em comin.... I've cleared CMOS, tajen the batt out, I haven't tried with the bridge yet but will give it a go if I can find it btw when I switch on, everything powers up for 2 secs, then everything goes off then it comes back on, is this like a test Giga boards do when booting?
I had an Asus P5B Premium that used to do that... Also.. are you sure the BIOS chip is not dead? I've had boards act similarly and when I put a new flashed EEPROM in they worked... just a thought.
huh how do I do this, I can't even get into the bios, nothing comes up on my screen nah haven't got one to try I'll see if I can in a few days or sumthin
